So "he is sweet... he is honey" is really a way of saying "He wants to take all the credit... he's slick". There's also a menacing undertone: Kofi Annan would take the credit for peace, but they would take the credit for war.

Bush's problem with Annan's 'plan' (and this, unbelievably, is the U.S.'s general response) is that Annan wants to secure a ceasefire first, then have Israel and Lebanon negotiate their differences. Bush (and fucking bolton) DO NOT WANT A CEASEFIRE. They want Hezbollah to return the kidnapped soldiers and then maybe start talking about stopping bombing, killing civilians, etc.

My favorite part is the thing about "Russia and China are both big countries." Which I don't actually just find to be a stupid comment, it is mostly just evidence of his dismissive attitude towards those countries.
