creepy and evil ?

anthony, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yes.

Justyn Dillingham, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd hit it for a million bucks.

Ramosi, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not thrilled to death by that show at all. I'd rather watch CNN, & I do!

Gale Deslongchamps, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

She'll be arrested breaking into Tom Cruise's mansion in twenty years - - they can then compare who is the more closeted.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oy. She's so smarmy and annoying. Her singing is enough to make me want to start crazy gluing my ears shut.

Nicole, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It was an epiphany on how annoying the characters on "Will & Grace" are when she appeared on it and came across as really, really likeable. Even Karen is beginning to grate (in a bad way, as opposed to her previously hilarious way).

Dan Perry, Friday, 1 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Rosie O'Donnel - oh so creepy Will & Grace - Having only seen the first series, all those characters have always been annoying. And not funny.

mms, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is this the place where I yet again get to say that Will and Grace is evil?

RickyT, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

SHES NOT VERY FUNNY BUT AT LEAST SHE IS CHARITABLE; I WOULD HATE TO SEE HER IN UNDEAD MODE

Mike Hanle y, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Will & Grace" is so evil that it's making me think that "Friends" is hilarious. Just shoot me.

Dan Perry, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, Dan, control yourself! Shoot the TV instead!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Does anyone understand where the nickname "Queen of Nice" came from? She's not even nice, let alone a queen of the nice.

Vinnie, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

She's the Queen of Obsequious Fawning, which in the entertainment industry is synonymous with Queen of Nice.

Dan Perry, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I suspected as much.

Vinnie, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

THE HEAD IS HUGE. BURST IT LIKE A PHLEM

Mike Hanle y, Monday, 4 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two weeks pass...
none of you people know what you are talking about. she is neither creepy nor evil. just nice. what's wrong with nice? go realease your bitterness where no one else has to hear it.

da_maniac, Friday, 22 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

RUMBLED!

Dan Perry, Friday, 22 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My only question is if you hate these shows that much then why the hell are you watching them????? Stop Watching and stop Bitching!

Katie Gallagher, Saturday, 23 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two weeks pass...
right on katie

Lana, Monday, 11 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

We watch them because they're on. </Seinfeld>

bnw, Monday, 11 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I once spotted Mark Eitzel in the studio audience, and was stunned until I discovered that Joni Mitchell was the musical guest.

Colin Meeder, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And now it's revealed she's GAY! Sky's blue, BTW.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I remember that, Colin! Very freaky seeing Eitzel's mug in the audience. I recall Rosie was her usual fawning self with Joni, although it seemed the only album she'd heard was Turbulent Indigo.

Anyway, I kind of like her, huge head and all. She reminds me of my cousins. I wish she'd play someone really twisted and bitchy in a film, instead of the usual Eve Arden best friend types. They should remake The Killing of Sister George with her in the Beryl Reed role and Anne Heche in the Susannah York role, that'd be so great.

Arthur, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah , anyone who makes beard jokes at the tonys is rally in the motherfucking closet

anthony, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what about tom's beard jokes?

mark s, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

there is a difference b/w BEARD and beard , but you knew taht

anthony, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i really had no idea she was gay. i don't really care either.

Samantha, Tuesday, 12 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

rosie is just about the last person to know she was gay.damnear the whole world already knew and whats more i've yet to figure out is why some gay people seem to think they need to let us know they are gay.whoop te do.so what you think it puts you above people.who needs to know or cares

richard mcdaniel, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and now shes all gay yeah on her talk show , dropping names and whoring bad broadway revicals. I love broadway, yeah if broadway was just the smae fucking musical after the other. That and she is a corprate shill, hey everyone gets tickle me elmos- now that shes el supermo dyko will she be handing out 12 inch strap ons from Good Vibrartions, i think not, a twelve inch strap on wouldn't fit if the chasm of her cunt was as large as her endless mouth. And do nto even get me started on piano queen John McD, who would agree to have Eboloa ridden shit dropped into his mouth just to be on televisioon.

She reminds me of all my aunts combined, and of non-static dryer sheets. One because she is hideous, two because I always watched her show with my mom when I helped her fold clothes. She had Missy Elliot on her show once, it seemed kind of incongruous but not so much in retrospect. Also, it should be noted she fawned over Streisand more than 'Tommy.'

Abbott, Friday, 2 March 2007 22:13 (eighteen years ago)

Seconded.

I think the main put-off (can you say that?) is her mouth. For me anyway. It seems such a rodent/bitter type of mouth.

Posted by ro on April 14th at 4:12pm in home
a huge terrible storm is coming
a nor easter
the potential hail has bumped imus
off r top story tonight

i was on the stoprosie site

• “You know, this President invaded a sovereign nation in defiance of the UN. He is basically a war criminal. Honestly. He should be tried at The Hague.”
• “Don’t fear the terrorists. They’re mothers and fathers.”
• “Democracy is threatened in a way it hasn’t been in 200 years and if America doesn’t stand up we’re in big trouble.”

correct quotes
thank you ethan
well done

and yes i stand by all of them
however on number 2
i would like the word terrorist
in quotations

dont fear “TERRORISTS” - they are mothers and fathers

u see
since terror been used to scare americans
since 9 11
terrorists - terrorists - everywhere
all of them - bad guys
terrorists - after us - here and there
they sold it
we bought it

we gave away r civil liberties
fear works

the 911 terrorists
most came from saudi arabia
and we invaded 2 other countries
minor details

here is the point
i was trying to make
to elisabeth
who cant see any of “them”
as anything but terrorists

hundreds of thousands of humans
not “terrorists”
iraqi mothers and fathers
have been killed by US

those innocent ones
the mothers and fathers
they r not “terrorists”

try to paint with a huge brush
a big mess

borderlines everywhere

the media has demonized arabs
the facts about the death toll on all sides
is sickening and under reported

i am against this war
i support all the troops
i want them home

i have decided that from now on
i will talk about other things
on the view

like y thousands still live in renaissance village
18 months after katrina

or that 28 million american children live in dire poverty

that 1/2 of all black and hispanic kids in america
do not graduate from high school

1 in 150 autistic = EPIDEMIC

half a million children r in foster care
they r lost
the system is broken

from now on i will not raise my voice
about this criminal administration
i am sick of screaming IMPEACH

unreal
from now on i will say
unreal
ok
just know on the inside
i will be yelling

unreal
i am registering as an independent
cause i am sick of both sides
cowardly silence

as democracy dies

finally a blog
no pray
no play

some said i wouldn't
and they told me no
but i didn't stop

working hard
making those moves
every day

and on my knees
every night
you know i pray

i said we pray
pray
aw yeah we pray
pray

we need 2 pray just 2 make it 2day

http://stoprosie.com/

OUR MISSION is to influence current and prospective viewers of The View to not watch the program until the situation concerning Rosie O'Donnell and her anti-American falsities is addressed and amended by Disney-ABC.

OUR REASON for calling this boycott is to raise awareness of the "blame America first" mentality being displayed in the mainstream media today. We aim to show Disney-ABC (and their sponsors) that we, as American citizens, will no longer enable an unchecked anti-American individual to occupy our network television airtime.

OUR METHOD comes in the form of an online petition. We ask for your support in signing this petition, proving to Disney-ABC that if the problem is not addressed, they will lose a significant portion of their audience.

kingfish, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

Our generation officially has it's very own Jane Fonda.

I can't really keep track of all the shit I would like to boycott right now. Disney...NBC...CBS...Staples...General Motors...

Manalishi, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

What did NBC do? The Office and 30 Rock just TOO GOOD FOR YOU? Can't handle the heat? The funny heat?

Curt1s Stephens, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:52 (eighteen years ago)

I do like The Office. But, you know...the Imus thing. I don't make a habit of giving a pass to obsequious corporate cowards.

Manalishi, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:54 (eighteen years ago)

Bill Oreilly is going after NBC as a proxy for MSNBC having(and promoting) Keith O.

xp you do know that their major sponsors pulled out of the show, right? And when the sponsors leave, the show isn't going to stick around too long, right?

kingfish, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

Nonsense about O'Reilly.

Those sponsors ought to be ashamed as well, obviously.

Manalishi, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:58 (eighteen years ago)

I want them sung to Madonna's BORDERLINE inna barbershop quartet style.

Abbott, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

Then it's the sponsors' fault, isn't it, not msnbc's.

kingfish, Monday, 16 April 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe this is naive, kingfish, but NBC certainly has enough clout at this point to remain loyal to Imus and tell GM and Staples to go take a flying leap, effectively slowing down the Big Brother-izing of this country just a wee little bit and sending a very clear message.

Manalishi, Monday, 16 April 2007 20:04 (eighteen years ago)

they probably didn't want to remain loyal to the old coot and found the perfect excuse to can his bony ass

kingfish, Monday, 16 April 2007 20:08 (eighteen years ago)

xpost You may be right. Not to be all "Mrs Lovejoy" about it, but what about all the money Imus raised for children with cancer? You don't think they're going to be affected by this? Does NBC consider this, or are they too busy genuflecting to racists?

For the record, I don't listen to Don Imus, never have, and generally regard him as a clown.

rps - I think Imus, in his hopelessly out of touch way, was trying to be 'hip' and use popular 'ghetto slang,' ie Rosie saying "Badonkadonk," etc. I don't think what he said was particularly racist. Unfunny? Yep. Insensitive in light of the achievements of these girls? Absolutely. But racist? Seems like a stretch.

Now, "Himeytown?" That's racist.

Manalishi, Monday, 16 April 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

this is nabisco from another thread:

the problem is that All This White People actually have zero idea what was offensive about the Imus remark. That's my conclusion. They seem to believe that it was offensive because the words were inherently offensive / racist / etc. (They're insulting, largely on beauty-myth and misogyny grounds, but there are a million ways you could use them without anyone batting an eyelash: e.g., imagine a black woman saying "I didn't have time to fix my hair this morning -- it was so embarrassing, showing up to work looking like some nappy-headed ho.") Hence the "black people say it" response, trying to argue that the words are not inherently unacceptable. But of course what's unacceptable isn't the use of an insult, it's that Imus looks at young black women who are successful, motivated, educated, and just generally Nice Young People Doing Well for Themselves, and the first thing he has to say about it is "you're still ghetto whores to me."
