I Cut Off All My Hair!

well, maria cut it off. it was down to my arse and now i could audition for the new musical production of romper stomper. total buzz-cut. i feelz like a new mang. it didn't even hurt. i'm probably not gonna wait another 12 years for another haircut. it was making me so hot at work and getting in my way whilst disposing of medical waste. i was kinda sick of it. plus, i kinda felt like i was starting to resemble comic book guy. now i just look a little like that bloated bozo from the happy mondays.

yer on yer own, ned!

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 21:59 (nineteen years ago)

I will maintain the flame.

What did Isaac Hayes say about getting his head shaved for the first time? Great quote.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:01 (nineteen years ago)

Did you keep it? If it's >=10" long, donate it to Locks of Love.

Jaq (Jaq), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

I'm thinking I'll let my mane grow back out, so I'll step up and take your place, Scott!

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

:-D Scott, you must donate to that. There's some young black metal fan out there now who's hurting.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

getting in my way whilst disposing of medical waste

This has some ewwww connotations.

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

Wow!

Of course, long hair is awfully hot in the summer. The trouble is that January inevitably arrives... so enjoy it now, congratulations and make sure to buy a warm hat!

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:11 (nineteen years ago)

oh wow!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:21 (nineteen years ago)

i just shaved my head, too.

gbx (skowly), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

did this a couple of months back. it wasn't that long in the first place, but it was still quite a refreshing change!

HPSTRKRFT (haitch), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:04 (nineteen years ago)

dude i shave my head EVERY DAY.

david allen grier (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

Make sure to wear a hat outside so as not to get sunburnt for the first couple weeks. No duh, but I always forget mine when I lop off my luscious locks.

c('°c) (Leee), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:08 (nineteen years ago)

you can also bake your head to a golden brown.

david allen grier (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:10 (nineteen years ago)

also, scott, i dont know how your hair grows in but you now have an important decision to make: stay shaved forever OR suffer through a six month period of looking like a hedgehog as it grows back in

david allen grier (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:11 (nineteen years ago)

we didn't save the hair :( now i feel bad. it all happened so quick. maria gave rufus a buzz-cut with the clippers and then i joined the crowd. before i let my hair grow it was always pretty short. no fuss, no muss. plus, i'm a slob, so it was just one less thing to worry about. i like the way it feels. i might just keep it like this. i'm gonna turn in my metal t-shirts for some hardcore t-shirts. i'm scary looking in a whole new way now. before i was more halfway house. now i'm more group home.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 1 August 2006 23:21 (nineteen years ago)

Change is good, especially with hair. Are your kids looking at you funny? I remember when my dad shaved his mustache off - I had never seen him without one. I was 7 or 8 and couldn't look him in the face for a few days.

Jaq (Jaq), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 00:01 (nineteen years ago)

Looking like a hedgehog is great. Women will ruffle your hair. At least there's this one woman who does, and it's the best thing EVAH. I love being a hedgehog.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 00:13 (nineteen years ago)

I have come close to shaving my head, especially working in today's heat. But then I always think something like "what if I have to put on a suit next week and go to a funeral?" Works every time.

jim wentworth (wench), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 00:17 (nineteen years ago)

I am buzzing today.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 00:53 (nineteen years ago)

Scott and Rufus look so cute with their shaved heads. Scott has got a zigzaggy hairline that is way cool.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Thursday, 3 August 2006 00:34 (nineteen years ago)

The shaved head is genius. It's cheap. You can do it yourself. It feels nice. It accentuates one's face. Washing of the hair is almost non-existent. You just have to balance it with nice clothes so that it doesn't look politically troublesome.

paulhw (paulhw), Thursday, 3 August 2006 00:37 (nineteen years ago)

I want a PICTURE of this! I lovelovelove shaved heads!

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Sunday, 6 August 2006 21:40 (nineteen years ago)

i really thought this MIGHT be a Ned thread

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 6 August 2006 21:47 (nineteen years ago)

Hey, I don't blame you. But no.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 6 August 2006 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

SELLOUT!

(locks of love is a scam. at least the "send them your hair, you selfish longhaired prick" aspect of it is.)

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Sunday, 6 August 2006 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

a zillion people asked me if i donated my hair. even at the market. i should have just said yes to all of them. don't women cut off their hair all the time? do they get asked that all the time? everyone at the hospital where i worked loved my haircut. people who never even looked at me were all friendly and smiling. i think its a relief sometimes for people. is he a drug addict, a hippy? it's like they can't get a read on you. oh good he isn't crazy and he might not kill me! glad i could help.

i should have done it a long time ago. it's so much easier. plus, for real, i just look better. and different! i look way younger.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 6 August 2006 22:16 (nineteen years ago)

i'll ask maria to do a before and after on here.

i know what you are all thinking. how could he possibly improve on THIS:

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 6 August 2006 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

don't women cut off their hair all the time? do they get asked that all the time?

they do. my girlfriend has never cut her hair in her entire life and people still suggest she donate all of her hair to friggin locks of love.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Sunday, 6 August 2006 22:42 (nineteen years ago)

oops. wife. still not used to that.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Sunday, 6 August 2006 22:43 (nineteen years ago)

hey, congratulations! yeah, it took me years to get used to the wife thing. or saying it anyway. my, um, maria, my , er, weef, uh, wife. i'm not very marriage-y.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 6 August 2006 23:10 (nineteen years ago)

I recently cut off all my hair.
I realised I was looking more Trailer Park than Swimsuit Model.
Now that it's all gone I look like I have a lego helmet.
I can't win.

Forgot My Pencil (Forgot My Pencil), Monday, 7 August 2006 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

Yikes! I'm a monster!

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 7 August 2006 12:04 (nineteen years ago)

You guys have no coffee brand-loyalty!

Beth Parker (Beth Parker), Monday, 7 August 2006 12:46 (nineteen years ago)

Coffee next to Rice Krispies? That's rad!

JTS (JTS), Monday, 7 August 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

Donald the Lurker agrees with me that you look good, Scott. He sez that you look like Clark Kent, and Clark Kent's a good look.

Beth Parker (Beth Parker), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 01:09 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I thought it would be pitskull, but that looks nice. But us old guys can't do that, not til we get really old. In the middle, even Sting can look like some old convict, so I really better not do that, cos it calls attention to furrows (on the other hand, I have a tendency to look like the Unabomber, so what the hell, what do I have to lose; probly they'll think, "Well, he's done some time, so maybe he's rehabilitated.")

don the nonlurker (dow), Tuesday, 8 August 2006 04:08 (nineteen years ago)

did this again. used the 1/2" clipper. that was a cop-out, in retrospect.
