In the URL field of Firefox, type in "Thank you, Angels! Thank you, Lord Of The Universe!" ... the website it takes you to is quite appropriate.

Next, type in "Eat shit!" ... (don't worry, it's safe for work)... a website that I haven't checked out in years.

what else?

Oh shit, it is just the Google "I feel lucky" button basically tied to the URL functionality. What a letdown.

This is prob. my favourite feature of Firefocx, not for fun purposes, but just as the quickest way of getting to things where you know the top Google hit will be the right thing.

I've disabled that and replaced it with the functionality of Yubnub which makes it into a really useful command line (provided you can remember the commands. I sometimes miss the I Feel Lucky, though no doubt there's a command for that too.

1. type "about:config" into the URL bar
2. where it sez "Filter:" type "keyword"
3. replace the value of Keyword.URL with "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q="
4. enjoy better living through user-configurable free software

learning the google's advanced search and calculator syntax (which is practically no syntax at all) is just about as useful as yubnub, for my $0.00. Though having to remember to take punctuation out of everything on the first go-round is a bit annoying.

one month passes...
I've just realised I only need to press 'g' and hit return to get to gmail.

'i' takes you to iTunes.

I'm becoming a lazy bastard.

(I know, I know, "becoming")
