The twins (Amanda and Michelle) and kind of meh, but they definitely have model frames and I see potential a la Shandi. All of the girls are pretty great, to be honest. My faves are:

what? theyre not casting on looks anymore? there are some really average looking girls in there.

from that group photo, meagan, monique, aj, jaeda, melrose and caridee are the only modelly looking types.

caridee is my favorite because im a sucker for blonde chicks. melrose is gorgeous. too bad about the stupid name.

aj is the hottness and seems not that annoying, even though i do hate that the is the requisite "i'm on myspace/i'm so DIFFERENT" girl.

jergins OTM. The girls are too self-conscious right now (~~Melrose~~ Melissa Rose anyone?) and are playing up to what they think is ANTM cattiness -- except it comes off as archly derivative and inorganic (cue Janice Dickinson joke). They need to know the Fear of Tyrant before this cycle will get good.

Unless of course you are talking about the "fabulous in pictures, GRIM in person" factor, which I would grant but I just think she's got bad angles; her features are very unique and very alluring but from certain angles her nose looks like a pelican beak.

Then again, I thought that Lluvy wasn't completely ugly.

Joanie, whom everybody loves, was buried in the first half of the show by all the other boring girls (e.g. the Gina/Jade wars). She really didn't become JOANIE OMG TEH FUNNY ONE until she said that Jade smelled like bitch.

tonight was the 1st episode this season i've seen. caridee is ok, but not as cool as joanie. all the girls suck and are lame and not like models, more like a sort of hot girl you'd pass on the street but not really notice.

melrose hasn't done that much to be hateable, really. her wannabe big personality act is a bit annoying, but she's not a sociopath like monique or a deranged alcoholic like lisa (the REALLY "wacky" one from a season or two ago). and anchal, who felt so wronged by her, so far seems like a whiny, boring baby so not much sympathy there.

I went off this show for a few weeks and now that I'm back into it I'm surprised at how much I like Melorse. She's a q-t. And I missed whatever supposed meanness she perpetrated so she just seems great to me like blondie from last cycle who made it so far (what does this say that her name is already so far gone from my memory?). twins=dud. and i usually like pale girls.

is there a noticeable dip in the quality of this show this season? i ask because all of the show's story people went on strike after episode 3 or something, so all subsequent episodes were put together by producer/editor teams.

Anchal gets laurels by being the one who got up all in Monique's grill in the phone room.

Melrose will be eliminated for looking (and BEING) too old.

The show's writing isn't the only thing suffering this season, the editing has been clumsy and amateurish, though having meh girls magnifies the deficiencies a lot. Also, the judges mugging non-stop (esp. Miss J) is getting on my nerves and exacerbates the fact that the girls are largely anonymous.

Joanie's extracted snaggle has more charm and personality than all of the girls.

I liked last night's episode though.

She has the Bratz face, totally, but then the kind of sizable-hipped, two-inch-waist-diameter, big-ol-titties look I previously assumed was only possible in comic books and women who've had ribs removed. She looks completely imaginary. I admire Dan's confidence in finding that sexy, because to be totally frank it kinds scares the hell out of me, and if I ever personally encountered her I'm not sure I wouldn't go into some kind of fight-or-flight mode.
