Just cos I'm organising this. It's in Hitchin so I doubt anyone'll be able to make it but I'm spamming everyone anyway. Feel free to tell us about what you're up to on here too.

Just when you thought it was safe to check your bulletins....

ROGUE!!!!!!

The line up is as follows:

DJ Midi Fiddler
Aidan, ex-Dot.Hardcore replaces Tim Cookie on the new lineup. Serving up a Prog-Trance dish to kick things off nicely.

DJ Check-1
This guy serves up a set of some of the most original Breaks I've ever heard. I always thought breaks was that Bentley Rhythm Ace stuff but it's not it's friking banging!

DJ VK
This youngster from Royston certainly knows which side of Electrohouse his butter's on. He's been tearing up the dancefloor in various nights in Hitchin and is about to start a residency.

DJ Dog Latin
Will be doing a laptop-style set that incorporates everything from Minimal House, cheesy 90s rap and gabba techno.

Also, if you are interested in this kind of thing as a DJ, artist, promoter or punter then please join the Brainpunchers Myspace Group. It's still in the works but it's open to anyone who is interested in the club nights we're doing at Rogue and dance music in and around the area in general. If you have a night you want to promote let us know. If you'd like to play at a future event let us know.

good luck working in that Minimal House for the baying hordes.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 18 August 2006 08:50 (nineteen years ago)

i am playing "ihre gluckische..", "washing up", "all together" and a bunch of other so-called "minimal" stuff but i don't really think of these as minimal.

In the grand tradition of bands such as Van Halen, Bon Jovi, and Zumpano (anyone?), Gooblar has taken the name of its best-named member. And, following in the footsteps of Eddie Van Halen, Jon Bon Jovi, and Jason Zumpano, D4vid G00blar is ready to submit to a life of having to tell people, "No, they're not just my backing band--Gooblar is the band." His bandmates seem cool about it too. Although they haven't really talked about it for a while.

Gooblar (just to clarify: that's the band) will be playing two shows in the next month. Saturday 30 September at the Hope & Anchor in Islington, and Friday 13 October at the Betsey Trotwood in Farringdon. Come! Say hi! Live your dreams! Never give up! Check out the myspace!

Hey hey, last-minute news: There'll be another Gooblar gig this very Saturday (23 Sept) at RoTa at Notting Hill Arts Club. We just got asked to do it yesterday, so anyone who comes would be greatly appreciated (we've not exactly had time to publicize).

Gooblar's on stage at 5pm.

Hello again. Some people may not know this, but THIS SATURDAY is THE 30TH OF SEPTEMBER, and THE 30TH OF SEPTEMBER is one of the dates written on that AWESOME FLYER UPTHREAD, so maybe you should take a moment and LOOK AT THE FLYER AGAIN, and, after you're done admiring its ENDEARINGLY SHODDY PHOTOSHOP DESIGN, maybe you'll want to come down to the gig on Saturday and see my band TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS.

g00blar (gooblar), Wednesday, 27 September 2006 08:32 (nineteen years ago)

I don't know if I have plans for Saturday or not, but if I come into town, then I will come down.
