Lady Godiva, R.I.P.?

It seems to me that popular cultural references to Lady Godiva have all but disappeared in the past few decades. Could it be that the titillation factor of riding naked through the streets on a horse has finally paled to insignifigance in the era of goatse? Or is Lady Godiva alive and still considered a bit risque in places I don't frequent, such as the Bible Belt of the USA?

In an age and culture where THIS: http://www.masturbate-a-thon.co.uk/ is possible, no, Lady G doesn't shock us no more.

Nothing risqué, nothing gained.

However osé, Godgyfu's gift is probably remembered by the citizens of Coventry.

the web remembers:

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,200,000 for lady godiva.

Now the word Godiva is first associated with overpriced cardboardy chocolate. She deserved better.

Maybe they export the dregs, or it gets subjected to heat/cold during transport. Here it's blah.

Beth Parker (Beth Parker), Monday, 21 August 2006 16:48 (nineteen years ago)

A preferable Belgian import.

I do not consider becoming a brand name for chocolate as anything but a vestigial fame. True Godivists worship at the altar of horses, bare thighs, and breasts artfully concealed by the fall of long tresses.

Beth, Henry the VIII proclaimed that even our women were all Flemish horses. *roffle* (Does that make sense? I dunno, the English language has foresaken me due to sleep deprivation...-

That was only Anne of Cleves, and he was pretty far gone by then.

"Flanders mare" indeed.
