I mean, I'm not as sticklike as I used to be, but I'm within the 'healthy' weight category. And it's hard for me to get much heavier.

My kids are also skinnyrinks.

How are we meant to keep up? Where are all these people coming from?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:14 (nineteen years ago)

i will not be, no.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

I hope not to be by then.

StanM (StanM), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:25 (nineteen years ago)

Where are all these people coming from?

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:42 (nineteen years ago)

DougD (DougD), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:43 (nineteen years ago)

BRING IT ON!

wogan lenin (dog latin), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

it's not that "fattey" one, is it? Hmmmmm?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:03 (nineteen years ago)

I had no idea I could get up to 11st9 and still be "OK". Lard for lunch, then.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:05 (nineteen years ago)

yay, i'm well in the middle of OK (although i'm really not sure how tall i am), despite wobbly belly...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:17 (nineteen years ago)

Well, that's it - my weight may be OK but there's a family-size bag of Revels where there's supposed to be a six-pack and I'm sure my arteries are mostly cheese.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:19 (nineteen years ago)

can we eat you? revels + cheese sounds like a pretty good meal

i've dreamt of rubies! (Mandee), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

woah, that chart seems to be very forgiving, no? I guess it's working on health rather than aesthetic but I wonder how they work it out? It's saying I'm slap bang in the middle of "Okay" even though I'm 5'11" and weigh just under 13 stone. But if I went to the gym and got ripped, that weight would go up and I'd be overweight.

wogan lenin (dog latin), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:40 (nineteen years ago)

According to that chart I'd have to majorly pig out and pile on a couple of stones before I'd be considered overweight - and here was I thinking I'd put on a few too many pounds of late. Thanks BBC! Thanks to your useful chart I can go out and drink lard and eat beer to my heart's (dis)content for a while yet!

dud Hab 'C' dEva (Dada), Friday, 25 August 2006 11:49 (nineteen years ago)

I need to start reading those "gr0w mo3r 1nch3s" emails I keep getting :(

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:14 (nineteen years ago)

the chart doesn't really have any conception of 'body-type', does it*

*i DON'T mean glands

animal bitrate (Enrique), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:17 (nineteen years ago)

It doesn't take into account age or sex so it's a load of balls really isn't it?

dud Hab 'C' dEva (Dada), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:18 (nineteen years ago)

yeah those things too.

animal bitrate (Enrique), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

when i said, 'i won't be obese', it was more a statement of intent.

animal bitrate (Enrique), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

100 meter runners are obese according to BMI, its just a very general indicator of the average persons overweightness.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:24 (nineteen years ago)

100 meter runners are obese according to BMI

They're all on drugs that's why.

dud Hab 'C' dEva (Dada), Friday, 25 August 2006 12:26 (nineteen years ago)

I am exactly on the line between normal and overweight. Depressing. Especially since I'm running several times a week now. I'd have to actually go on a diet to lose any weight, and I don't really want to....

Maria (Maria), Friday, 25 August 2006 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

I think I'll be okay.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:20 (nineteen years ago)

with any luck, i'll be obeser than all of you combined

nazi bikini (harbl), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:36 (nineteen years ago)

Maria, that's what people here are saying: when you get fitter from running and add muscle, you'll move into the obese category. It's a silly indicator.

paulhw (paulhw), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

I'm exactly on the line between OK and underweight.

Hurray! I'm not underweight!

g00blar (gooblar), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

I am underweight. I feel pretty healthy? Yeah. Maybe I need to stop smoking so I can eat more.

trees (treesessplode), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

i don't even know what a stone is i am stupid fat!

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

wow, i'm apparently overweight according to that thing. charlie, at 5'11" and just under 13 stone you're the same, unless i'm reading it wrong...i don't like that chart at all!

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:52 (nineteen years ago)

That thing is ridiculous. I'm 'clinically obese' at 5'4" and 130, wtf? I have a flat stomach and where a size 8. Who made that chart? The Olsen twins?

Sam: Screwed and Chopped (Molly Jones), Friday, 25 August 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

There's this amazing thing in Europe called "kilos"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 25 August 2006 16:01 (nineteen years ago)

Holy shit, you're 5'4" and you weigh 130 kg?

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Friday, 25 August 2006 16:02 (nineteen years ago)

Hint: 1 stone = 14 lbs or 1 kg = 2.2 lbs.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Friday, 25 August 2006 16:03 (nineteen years ago)

The BBC chart has both, by the way.

Hurrah! I'm at the line between overweight and obese! All I need to do is walk a lot and I'll be fine! Woohoo!

StanM (StanM), Friday, 25 August 2006 16:25 (nineteen years ago)

According to the bmi, I will be obese by the year 1998 or so until at least August 2006.

100% CHAMPS with a Yes! Attitude. (Austin, Still), Friday, 25 August 2006 21:06 (nineteen years ago)

Oof! I just sneak into overweight! 6'3" and 14.5 stone. I guess I am starting to cultivate a slight beer belly.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 25 August 2006 21:30 (nineteen years ago)
