Going on a trip to Amst/Brussels/Paris/Florence/Venice in the fall. Wondering if i should bother to take my digital camera over there and download & dump and shoot as i go, or, just cave in and buy a bunch of disposables? How hard is it to download photos back to home from there? The only site i have to drop the pics in would be Hotmail i guess. Is it as much hassle as i'm thinking???

yes. ur in a bad way if you want to do that bcuz of hotmail and gmail's size limitations on shit. you should just get a bunch of cards or get one (1) laptop...

expanded:

fwiw I had my camera when I drove x-country for work last year and I was out fro two months. If I had tried to UL as much as I had shot (about 2K pictures or so), then half my time would have been spent

a) looking for an internet connection

b) actually taking the time to upload.

so I sused the producer's computer and dl'd them to the computer and BURNED CDs, which is what I reccomend you do; if yr going to be on a computer, you're better off doing that than uploading.

Why not Flickr? Account is not that expensive. Alt upload at shop and have a CD-Rom burned?

No, i don't have a ipod. Think i'll just end up taking extra memory cards, thanks for the advice everyone!

Memory cards are pretty cheap nowadays, you can stock up. 2Gig will get well over 500 6MP high quality JPEG shots and about half that in RAW. Internet cafe and burn off to CD-R/DVD-R is a possibility too.
