Whatever. Just put on the underwear and you'll be fine.

Mr. Que (Mr.Que), Thursday, 7 September 2006 17:29 (nineteen years ago)

You have to post a pic of the damned thing so people like me who have sketchy memories of the '80s can remember what the hell you are on about.

I liked his caterpillar friends. I liked even more that the caterpillar was named GRUBBY.

"IT'S GRUBBIN' TIME!"

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 September 2006 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

One of the many ways he was disturbing is that he looked soft like a teddy bear, but was actually hard as a rock, because of the ROBOT TECHNOLOGY inside.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 7 September 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

I don't get his new-agey/'60s future tunic.

Abbott (Abbott), Thursday, 7 September 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

Teddy Ruxpin? More like Teddy HIPPIE!

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 September 2006 21:33 (nineteen years ago)

my little brother got one of these. either the year before or after he got a 'my brother' doll. i can still recall the 'my brother' 'kid sister' songs...

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 7 September 2006 22:12 (nineteen years ago)

I think Kid Sister's male counterpart was My Buddy.

mucho (mucho), Thursday, 7 September 2006 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe colette's brother had the black doll.

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 September 2006 22:53 (nineteen years ago)

mucho may win against all the wine/cava/smirnoff ices in my brain from poptimism. but whatever it was, the three of those toys were like an empire of evil. my barbies and cabbage patch kids were never as sinister as all those 'nearly life sized' toys for boys.

dan, we didn't have black people or dolls where i was raised. this is why i have to go to 8 hours of 'diversity and equality' training in...6 hours or so. sigh.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 7 September 2006 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

I was a little too old to be in to these, but my perception of them was that they were for kids who didn't have real friends.

Matt Olken (Moodles), Thursday, 7 September 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

my perception of them was that they were creepy as fuck.
