12 Step Programs/Programmes

my dad recently embarked on one but I'm not sure how seriously he's taking it.

I'm getting a huge amount out of it. My girlfriend's in NA and AA, and I used to actually be quite jealous the more I found out about it, wishing I'd drunk more at crucial moments of my life...I sudenly find that, having sat in meetings and listened to lots of strangers talked about their emotions, I can for the first time talk about my own! Which is truly unprecedented.

I'm saying all this anonymously, of course...
