Funnyfunnyfunny cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesybit.
Cheesybit cheesybit funnCheesybit.
Then it carries on like that and ends up cheesy in extreme.

Most of the funnies make up for the cheesy bits, up until halfway through where I gave up and went to bed.

Certainly, it's the film which originated the catchall ending to eighties comedy: "They all lived happily ever after, and they got to keep all the money" (see also Trading Places). And the sweary granny.

I know. Hey, it's a quiet day.

aka Gielgud wins Oscar for "Perhaps you'd like me to wash your dick for you..."

Lots of funny lines, too bad the guy who wrote it died young.

Yeah, it's basically "When the butler goes, the cheese takes over"...

I guess the writer didn't do "Arthur Two" then?

The last time Liza Minnelli was intentionally funny until "Arrested Development."

"Normally, someone would have to go to a bowling alley to meet someone of your stature."

Arthur 2 was written by a very funny guy, Andy Breckman, whose script was reportedly savaged and dumbed down by the process, which I find easy to believe.

i saw this movi for the first time last year. i didn't understand why people would think it was funny - i couldn't sympathise with the Arthur character in any way, he just came across as a total cunt. am i missing something?
