Are movies like this ('this' - basically mainstream comedy or melodrama but with a side of teh gay) considered part of a legitimate 'queer cinema' spectrum, or are they bad enough to be treated like queer exploitation flicks?

I don't they're queersploitation, but I am kind of sad that something like this couldn't come out independently of the movie it is imitating.

I don't know if I remember the Stifler makeout scene in AP2. I remember him making out with Ashton Kutcher in Dude Where's My Car? and that made me tingle a little.

What do you mean terrible taste in movies? Movies we view or movies we make (or condone having made?).

My experience has been that gays movie-viewing habits that run parallel to straights' habits. But a lot of the gay-themed movies that are made wind up being pretty bad for various reasons.
