GF and I are off to visit friends in Brighton on Saturday but he can't put us up for the night as his flatmate is having a party and all the couch space will be taken up. Because of GF's back problems, sleeping on the floor is kind of not so good. Looking on the net I can't seem to find anywhere that'll put us up for one night only and that is budget (like very cheap - we are broke!)

Anyone recommend anything?

Oh and if any ilxors are out and about Saturday night let me know!

Best option is to go to the Tourist info office as soon as you get there, and they'll find you a B&B for not too much money.

Be sure to bring plenty of provisions with you, however, as Brighton city centre is not the greatest place in the world for restaurants unless you like pizza parlours...

Worth trying here (but you might have left it a bit late): http://grapevinewebsite.co.uk/

Hardly true... five minutes' walk from Churchill Square along Western Road in the direction of Hove brings you to Preston Street, a road which runs down to the seafront that is ENTIRELY FULL of restaurants of every description, from Lebanese to Chinese. I recommend Planet India for cheap, very tasty curry, washed down with unusually strong Polish lager.

At the bottom of Preston Street is the West Beach Hotel, http://www.westbeachhotel.co.uk/, which appears to have a £30 pppn deal at the moment.

I'll be around in town at the weekend...

D'oh, the £30pppn deal at the West Beach is only for October, and I'll bet they won't give you a room for one night (but it might be worth trying).

I would say come and crash on my floor, but (a) it's all kids and chickenpox in our house right now and (b) it's a floor.
