I drive a couple miles (at most) a day, live alone, have good credit. What do I need to tell lease dude?

If you needed a car for three months (to be able to do a particular job), what would the best way of doing this be?
Hire a car, lease a car, buy a car and then sell it?

buy a used car and then sell it for what you paid?

Avis, Hertz and Enterprise all appear to offer long-term rentals, but I wasn't able to tell what you can expect to pay without signing up for a reservation. Probably a little more than a car payment would be, but less hassle than a lease would be from a car dealer.
