How Does Maynard James Keenan of Tool sing?

Okay, I know how awesome Maynard is, but I can't find ANYWHERE about what his vocal range is, or how he sings. If I can figure that out, I'd like to be able to surpass him. If anyone can give me ANY details about it, I would love to have them. Thanks.
