Zwan (miccio), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 11:51 (nineteen years ago)

i saw 'ghostbusters' recently.

kind of lame.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 11:53 (nineteen years ago)

Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

Rufus 3000 (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 11:54 (nineteen years ago)

none of the SNL crowd are jack black so they win

The Real DG (D to thee G), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

When the Frat Pack makes something 0.000000001% as funny as "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", then maybe we can have some semblance of a debate on this thread.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:06 (nineteen years ago)

Why didn't they ever do ANIMAL HOUSE 2005 with Jack Black as Bluto?

Eazy-Esteban Buttez (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:08 (nineteen years ago)

'planes, trains' is great tis true.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:09 (nineteen years ago)

I love Chevy Chase unreservedly, but I kinda feel the same about Will Ferrell. So I'm wimping out and scoring it a tie.

No Suntan, No Credibility (noodle vague), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:10 (nineteen years ago)

(And Stiller as Otto, Vaughn as Boon, Ferrell as D-Day...)

Eazy-Esteban Buttez (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:10 (nineteen years ago)

'planes, trains' is great tis true.

"our speedometer has melted and as a result it's hard to say with any degree of accuracy how fast we were going."

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 12:34 (nineteen years ago)

Will Ferrell as D-Day would be inspired casting.

The actor who played D-Day - Bruce McGill - is one of my favorite supporting character actors. He's pretty damn good as Sheriff Farley in My Cousin Vinny.

GoodGodHolyShitBagofDemons (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:20 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think it's fair to put stiller and apatow in there.

kyle (akmonday), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:39 (nineteen years ago)

throwing steve martin into the mix makes it a REALLY unfair fight. for that matter, you could probably just make it bill murray -vs- stiller, etc and murray would win. hell, groundhog day alone...not that i don't enjoy the new dudes, and not that the snl gang didn't make mountains and mountains of crap, but still...

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:41 (nineteen years ago)

Rufus 3000 (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

I think Made is funnier than Planes but nothing else comes close.

christopherscottknudsen (christopherscottknudsen), Monday, 25 September 2006 02:51 (nineteen years ago)

the snl/sctv gang at their best snuck 'sweet' in with the funny better(Planes a perfect example), something the um, 'frat pack'(where did this come from? never mind I'm just going to reject it out of hand ok thx) expressly tries not to do for all I know THEIR LOSS. I love them all though, don't get the Jack Black hate EVER.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Monday, 25 September 2006 03:29 (nineteen years ago)

Dudes, Meatballs.

Eppy (Eppy), Monday, 25 September 2006 03:41 (nineteen years ago)

'stripes' is also quite underwhelming.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 07:24 (nineteen years ago)

enrique you just dissed like the only two of those movies that are actually great!

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Monday, 25 September 2006 07:43 (nineteen years ago)

uhhh 'the jerk'!

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 07:43 (nineteen years ago)

even if you cut the distended final half-hour out of 'stripes' it's still underwhelming. maybe i am backdating murray ennui though.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

'stripes' is also quite underwhelming.

POPPYCOCK!

i am not a nugget (stevie), Monday, 25 September 2006 08:35 (nineteen years ago)

i'm meh on it anyway.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 08:36 (nineteen years ago)

old dudes win. let's just pretend the blues brothers never happened, though.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Monday, 25 September 2006 08:48 (nineteen years ago)

oh 'the blues brothers' is ok.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 08:48 (nineteen years ago)

no, it really isn't.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Monday, 25 September 2006 09:30 (nineteen years ago)

let's just pretend the blues brothers never happened, though.

i am not a nugget (stevie), Monday, 25 September 2006 09:51 (nineteen years ago)

i leiked 'ghostbusters' when i was a kid innit!

but when i saw it last autumn i was just kinda 'ech'.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

how are the wilsons affiliated with SNL?

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

they aren't.

this is SNL vs. 'frat pack', which does include the wilsons.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:20 (nineteen years ago)

I'm trying to think of a Frat Pack movie that's as downright boring as "Neighbors" - but I still give it to the old guys, all around a better ensemble, particularly when you include ancillary guys like Steve Martin and Rodney Dangerfield.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:23 (nineteen years ago)

i still like ghostbusters
ghostbusters 2 is not good but has janosz poha!

deej.. (deej..), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:26 (nineteen years ago)

'40 year old virgin' is the effing shiznits.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:29 (nineteen years ago)

40 year old virgin is hilarious, and very much a part of the judd apatow-seth rogan school of comedy. can't wait for "knocked up."

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:36 (nineteen years ago)

Neighbors is way way underrated

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Monday, 25 September 2006 22:16 (nineteen years ago)

Hell yes. Tim Kazurinsky will have his place in heaven for the line "C'mon, we got cesspools to suck."

The Bearnaise-Stain Bears (Rock Hardy), Monday, 25 September 2006 23:14 (nineteen years ago)

The Jerk is up there with Modern Times. Nothing else from either crowd
remotely ranks.

shieldforyoureyes (shieldforyoureyes), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 02:34 (nineteen years ago)

in some ways murray could reasonably be slotted into either of these groups.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:17 (nineteen years ago)

"some ways" = Wes Anderson movies

Zwan (miccio), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:24 (nineteen years ago)

Dudes, Meatballs.

-- Eppy (epp...) (webmail), September 25th, 2006 12:41 AM. (Eppy)

this bears repeating.

DUMBOCLAAT (eman), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:31 (nineteen years ago)

you just know wes anderson must've seen ghostbusters and stripes 40 times as a kid but somehow you can't imagine him actually watching them!

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:43 (nineteen years ago)

Caddyshack for teh win

DUMBOCLAAT (eman), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:52 (nineteen years ago)

does the frat pack have a rodney dangerfield equiv?

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 05:22 (nineteen years ago)
