I have officially nothing to do. I am surrounded by computers. I have an "emergency" web-page full of per/xml/php stuff which i switch to in case i need to look like i'm working on something relevant. What else can I do other than reading ILE?

Not that "which is the most boring year?" thread isn't keeping me on the edge of my seat, you understand ;o)

Undergo an existential crisis like wot I am.

Tom, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm, almost there. More a "I want a career change, cos I've done this one now, what else should I do? Ulp, there's nothing else of any interest that produces MONEY." sort of crisis.

Write that "Alanis Morrisette's 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie' is in a direct lineage with Lou Reed's 'Metal Machine Music' and Scott Walker's 'Tilt' in that it is possibly one of the most 'difficult' *cringe* albums in rock" post that I've been promising myself I'd write.

Also, noting that you work for HarperCollins you could tell me why Adrian Laing left in the summer... If you're really bored that is.

RIGHT you are IT bloke innit? Download games! Or if you want I can email you Ballistic (roXoR!) although I think my work email is screwed. Bejeweled addicted us all at work for a while. Read Buffy recaps on MBTV. Browse for GUMPH on eBay. Debate with yourself (or ILE!) your fave member of Five! What do you think of the new Hear'Say chap?

Sarah, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Or you could browse job sites and fill in application forms like whot I haf been doing today. LOok out of the window. How is the sky in Hammersmiff? It is nice in SW1!

Sarah, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

argh, i wish i had window. here in the gloom = depressing. looking on job websites = depressing too (i can't work out if i'm overqualified, underqualified, perfectly qualified in a stagnant job market)

Adrian Laing... oo i've forgotten. There was so much coming and going in the wake of 4th estate bizniss

you could type the names and extrapolated whereabouts/careers of your ex-lovers into Google and get stalky.

Have you considered wanking under your desk? I read about some woman doing it in Cosmo. Apparently it is sexually empowering.

N., Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You could go here and play this game:

Samantha, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah!! Stalking! That is fun!!

Sarah, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ahem 'oh my gosh someone is pretending to be me oh dear I would never do anything like that'.

Ugh! Just do it at your own damn desk because I'm still grossed out about seeing someone doing it at the library nearly two years later. I don't know if he thought if he snuck into the back of the library it would be quiet and nobody would see him or if he really was a perv and wanted someone to see him.

I like viewing videos online. the Warp records site has a bunch of bandwidth-intensive eye candy. Also, the ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US video is ever-replayable.

or go to pogo.com and play Poppit! a very addictive game. zone.msn.com has a few that aren't too bad, either.

When it was up, rockstargame.com was a new text-based strategy thing where you could set up a bandname, put money into rehearsal or marketing, try and get your record pressed, etc ... but currently the game is down, the author is rewriting some code and fixing bugs.

Or, of course, write to your political representative in whatever country you're in, and express your opinion!

DO THIS! Sing out loud THE DEATH OF FERDINAND DE SASSURE!!! That is what I want to do but I can't remember most of the words whoopsadaisy. Back to 'Theme from Rosie and Jim' then.

Sarah, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"this is no holland-dozier-holland" ect

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 5 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am now humming it happily to myself and people are laughing at me. I CROOK MY THUMB AT THEM ALL.
