Princess Nikki (E4)

Best thing on TV right now. Big Brother 7's Nikki has to do a bunch of jobs, mostly involving faeces. Get yourself to uknova.com and download the first four episodes. Too many brilliant moments to mention but episode four ended with this classic line:

"I don't hate working on Princess Nikki anymore because it's helping me learn how to do a working day... And I hate having to do a working day, it's the most paraphernalia experience thing for me... I just hate working."

My mom used to call me Princess Nikki when I was kid because I was such a brat.

I can't begin to fathom what word she mistook 'paraphernalia' for.

It was funny until early August when she started playing up to it.

I saw the last two minutes of the zookeeper one on T4 yesterday, and the paraphernalia thing bugged me a lot.

Otherwise, get off my telly, you are dull and pathetic and your 15 minutes ran out a long LONG time ago.

I can't get on to UKnova, the sign up page is blank. Do you need an invitation?

Retching while scraping dried shit off a sewage machine isn't 'playing up to it'! The pleasure comes from watching this bizarre little brat being made to suffer more than she ever has. She's pathetic but she's certainly not dull.

It's not solely about the tantrums either, the highlights are her casual chats with the people she's working with, asking them if they wanted to work in a chippy when they were children and if the binmen were excited going 'ooh i really want this job' when they applied for it.

Princess Nikki = shitting on the working classes. It shouldn't be funny but it is, particularly when it's gobby arsewipes like that chipshop owner.

Joe, not sure what's happening with UKNova but it's working fine for me. If you use Ssk 156c then add NI and you can download the first four episodes off me.

Affectian: Cheers for the offer, but I'm not all that fussed about Princess Nikki, I'd just like to get onto UKNova generally. I'll just keep trying I guess

C4 would have got FAR more mileage out of this show if they hadn't put Nikki back into the BB house. She was tiresome in the extreme for most of BB itself and I can't see how sending her to a sewage works and turning her into a low-rent Paris/Nicole is going to change that.

this show's ok.

That's your idea of entertainment, that is.

A tad, but I'm fond of her too. I thought the Nikki-haters might enjoy the suffering but it looks like the rage goes very deep. (I should add, I don't think she's pathetic either.)

I wouldn't know where the moral high-ground was if I had a big map, but I'm abstaining from Bedlam.

i must admit suffering isn't my cup of tea at all, even Nikki's, but i don't really see her suffering here - i see her throwing tantrums to get her own way, as per, and stopping well short of suffering. but that's not even why this programme is so bad - it's so ball-numbingly predictable. having a channel 4 exec staring at the camera and repeating, over and over again, "It's like 'the simple life', only with Nikki instead of Paris and Nicole. Do You See?" would be more entertaining.

(I should add, I don't think she's pathetic either.)

She's pathetic but she's certainly not dull.

jesus what next Ann Coulter bukkake??

eh (fandango), Sunday, 1 October 2006 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

This Nikki seems ill-advised... I notereity(sic) beats soft-pr0n for getting an extension on your 15 minutes these days.

eh (fandango), Sunday, 1 October 2006 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

It's exploitative and poor.

I watched about five mins of it, even the intro (greatest lines off Big Brother segment) and threatening to walk off as she cleared up some dog muck.

I'm out.
