Doesn't this strike anyone else as rubbish. It sounds like there was never an "a" in that sentence. Even Armstong himself said he often missed syllables and that he "would hope that history would grant me leeway for dropping the syllable and understand that it was certainly intended, even if it wasn't said -- although it might actually have been."

Not that it matters I suppose.

If it had been me, I would have probably been making excited sqeaking noises.
