Very cool.

However: how does the computer know his pendulum is a pendulum? It could just as well be a one-handed clock, he never told it what part of it was stationary...

he didn't put an X inside the circle, so it's assumed mobile. If he drawn an X inside the bucket on springs it wouldn't have bounced around on the springs.

it knows what a pendulum is because they taught it what one was, same goes for the springs. he didn't have to anchor either one and he drew them in reverse order, so it's not like the first piece you draw is anchored to the board, w/the pendulum the weight changed from black to blue after he drew it, the springs turned red - aka it recognized them. i'm sure they've programed in all sorts of devices - wheels being the other one in the demo.
