If the new world of citizen journalism is going to have a gossip component -- as every form of journalism has had since the dawn of time -- then it's best we recognize it as such and treat it with the same amount of respect we pay, say, Page 6 in The New York Post -- which is to say, as the functional replacement for the comics.

Poppy abused power with all the amorality an ex-CIA director could command, but at least his sense of style and old money's noblesse oblige made him less of a disgusting savage than junior. Or Babs, fwiw.
