i forgot about halloween completely, mainly because i am an adult living in england, so i heard a rapping, gently frapping, lightly tapping at my door and was like "SHIT!!!!!" and i suddenly regressed into like 3rd grade and imagined that i was my old science teacher and i was going to get the tree outside "rolled", so i opened the door and bless their hearts, these english kids don't even know that you're supposed to say "trick or treat," one of them was like "uh, happy halloween?" and the other ones were just kind of shifting and shivering, and i was like, "uh, i'll be RIGHT BACK!" like i had some AWESOME surprise for them and i'm like FUCK, FUCK as i shut the door - not too hard, i mean i didn't want to seem rude to them, but i'm not leaving my door open to a bunch of masked schoolchildren - and start looking in the kitchen, but knowing in advance i have nothing, fucking nothing these kids really wanted, the only thing i had was oranges. fucking oranges. i was that guy. the guy with the fucking oranges. i came back upstairs and gave them each an orange and then murmured something and left. SHIT. so i went out and got some real candy and like an hour later they came back! "yeah here's your candy you fucking jackals now beat it!"

Thank you for the sympathy, but I had been wanting to quit the job. Although I had planned to leave in January or February, not before the holidays. The shock is starting to kick in, but I still want to celebrate.

In the meantime, my wrist is mostly healed (although it'll be a while before I have anything like full mobility in the joint). But as long as I can type, I'm not worried.
