Mynah Birds and others

I want a pet bird sometime soon, but I work full time so I'm worried it would get lonely. Ideally I'd like a mynah bird but they're very expensive and difficult to source. My family kept birds, though mostly in pairs. If a bird has another bird to chat too it won't get lonely, but then it will be less likely to bond with me.

Does anybody here keep birds?

Do you have any bird keeping suggestions?

Are birds for old people and loners?

I imagine a budgie's much cheaper...to buy I mean, not to maintain... I imagine running costs are roughly equivalent for a mynah bird and a budgie... but I'll leave that to the experts... if there are any
