C and D in Brizzle

I started some Swindon threads a while back. I took the job in Swindon. I'm going to live in Totterdown in Bristol. I know no-one in Bristol.

Any C/D thoughts would be very nice and especially about good places you can hang out on your own that aren't Starbucks and any interesting Totterdown factoids.

That hotel bar out of town centre frequented almost exclusively by lawyers as well, they know their Martinis in that place, and they sell spirits stolen from the Russian royal family 100 years ago as well.

That Mexican Place in Corn Street is some good chain bar TexMex eating, and there's a fucking amazing Italian seafood restaurant near it that does the best Fritto Misto I've had in my entire life anywhere. That includes Italy.

Oh, and that crepe stall franchise that pops up around town. And The Watershed. And, y'know, I (l) Bristol so fucking much.

Do you live there Sadly?

I'm not a lawyer but maybe it would be a lucrative dating strategy to go to the hotel bar.

Nah, I spent most of the first four months of this year there though. I really wish I could remember the name of that bar, it's off a side street from the market. And I can't fault the town at all.

The Cube used to be great, now not so much so. Boston Tea Co on Park Street is a nice non-boozy place for Saturday morning/brunch.

I'm away for a few days, but I'll check how this this thread has progressed when I get back (from ITALY, who are still behind Scotland in qualifying, Dom) and as the only (?) currently Bristle ilXor see what I can add.

I think Dom means the Palace Bar in Old Market - did it have a sloping floor?

I honestly can't remember... I remember that the drinks menu had these glasses of some Russian molasses gin-esque stuff for something like £250 a shot, with the explanation that it was taken from the Russian royal family during the Revolution, and it had sofa stools with detachable tops so you could put your bag and coat "inside" your seat. The wonders of modern etc.

Thanks Aldo. Have a good trip. I look forward to securely depositing items in the Palace Bar after my Shake and Fritto Misto.
