Too sleepy to even spell "lethargy" correctly!

Post-lunch food comas are the worst.

Post-lunch food comas are the worst.

My group at work used to have regular 2 pm meetings. This eventually proved to be a problem. For me. Since I tended to be dozing.

Everybody dozes at my place of employment during meetings. I was shocked at this, at first. They could care less, really. "I missed that part of the meeting. I dozed off." No one bats an eye. It's kind of great.

I had post-lunch napping down to a science at a former job: headphones on (but no music), glasses on (thick lenses masked closed eyes), computer screen up, hands on arrows (as if I were scrolling) -- commence napping. If someone came in to talk to me, and I had fallen asleep, I'd blame the headphones for why I couldn't hear them.

I didn't like that job very much.

I would post up over a well-placed spreadsheet of a client's vehicle list or something, forehead-in-hand, elbow-on-table, I would even turn on my fancy desklight which functioned just as well as a space heater. ZZZZZZ.

Post-punch-in-the-back-of-the-head comas are a close second, though.

During one of the rounds of layoffs at my old company, when there were a lot of offices free, I had a month there were I tried to nap in as many as possible. The fact that the offices vacated tended to be very well-heated helped immeasurably. This was also during the period when the guy at Pizza Hut Express would ask "the usual?"

nineteen years pass...

Fucking hate buffets. Once in a blue moon I get dragged to one and every single fucking time I get pushed to eat too much. Most fucking miserable dining experience that I will forever associate with cheap misers and eating disorders.
