SHED SEVEN: NOW IT CAN BE TOLD

The idea behind Speakeasy - as born in the pub, obviously - was to create a board where some of the old ILE codgers could chat in peace. It was decided (IIRC) to give it the least appealing name ever and then see how long it took people to notice. Porkpie set it up and then we got as far as starting two threads before realising we could all just email each other like we had been doing anyway.

To be honest, I don't really remember that much about it. If memory serves me right, Dante was some fourteen-year old was infatuated with Aja, and set up the board for them to have discussions. Aja didn't seem to mind this, but then her dad intervened, and Dante deleted everything from the board.

The "I love becoming Brian Eno" one had like one thread ever, after a few ILX Nicks (myself, NA, and S0uth4ll, I believe) discovered we were all a) the same age and b) all becoming Brian Eno. In retrospect it could've been a fun board for discussion of recording techniques and fashion tips etc., but we just didn't have the foresight to follow through.

They were pretty useful, I liked thread categories a lot but they weren't really maintained properly. Movement over the nu-ILX code would have required someone to categorise every single thread from scratch and there didn't seem to be many people clamouring for that.
