I'm actually pretty fucking scared about this, but what the hell? Looking at the cast list (Guy Pearce as Warhol!?!), it looks like they'll sidestep the whole "Dylan Thing."

The thing is, will it be better or worse than Ciao! Manhattan? (Of course, it would have to be really really bad to be worse). BTW, David Weisman, one of that films masterminds, is making an Edie doc called Girl On Fire to be released next year.

Edie Speaks
John Palmer and David Weisman, who co-wrote and co-directed Ciao! Manhattan (1972) starring Edie Sedgwick, speak on Sedgwick's short life and unfinished work. They will present previously unreleased audio tapes and rarely seen footage of Sedgwick talking about her life story, in a program moderated by Melissa Painter.
Edie Sedgwick (1943–1971) worked closely with Andy Warhol as a collaborator and star of many of his films, including Lupe and Poor Little Rich Girl. She is remembered for her unique style and daring lifestyle. Despite being touted for being famous for doing nothing in particular, she remained self-aware and thought specifically about the role of celebrity.

This was terrible, right? I vetoed watching it at punishing length last night.

Agony Booth certainly wasn't happy with it.

i'd probably enjoy this, the worse it was, not being a big warhol guy.

i expected this to be horrible, but it was just kind of forgettable.

I saw this today. Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce were pretty good in their roles and Hayden Christensen wasn't nearly as embarrassing as I expected he'd be. The main problem is that there isn't enough material for an actual movie, maybe 50-55 minutes tops, but by stretching it to 90 mins they've left in a lot of fluff. Even so, the movie basically flies by. Harmless, mindless fun, I guess.

I felt like I was watching Southland Tales every time Jimmy Fallon was onscreen

Fallon is worthless here, as is virtually every other supporting character (another huge weakness of the film). If there'd been more than three characters worth caring about, then maybe there would have been enough material for 90 mins ...

i basically agree with NoTime's first post. actually enjoyed this quite a bit.

This was a strenuously crappy film.

Incredibly dull. Miller's beautiful of course, but that can't carry a movie.
