but i think a bomb might've gone off in the f-train stop by my work.

if it isn't a bomb, well something fishy's going on over there.

either way, stoked for the madness!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:39 (nineteen years ago)

explosion? smoke? what's up?

You've Got Scourage On Your Breath (Haberdager), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:41 (nineteen years ago)

well not that stoked, but still. it has enlivened an otherwise boring workday.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:42 (nineteen years ago)

can't see any smoke, it was in the subway. which has been blocked off.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:42 (nineteen years ago)

i mean if it's nothing, that's fine. and i hope nobody died or got seriously injured, of course. but hey, voting for democrats means we're getting more of this shit, right?

seriously i don't know what to think.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:44 (nineteen years ago)

say, you're starting to sound like a paranoid conspiracy theorist.

the Adversary (but, still, a friend of yours) (Uri Frendimein), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:45 (nineteen years ago)

YOU'RE FREAKING ME OUT, OK?

carbon neutral (kenan), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

where is the f-train? is that anywhere in los angeles? if not, i don't care.

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

relax dudes.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:47 (nineteen years ago)

stoked for the madness is a beautiful phrase.

researching ur life (grady), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

Presumably just another track or electrical fire, right?

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

there was an explosion?!? just came from times square, didn't notice anything untoward.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

(sincere there, not snarky)

researching ur life (grady), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

I mean, assuming you haven't seen ambulances crowding in and bleeding people being carried out, I'd put money on either "track fire," "random stabbing," or "wild card (e.g., power-saw dude)."

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

one would hope! supposedly a cop told someone it was a bomb, tho. which ain't too smart if it's true. and the mta has taken the advisory down, which is weird. cuz if like someone gets sick it takes an hour to start that shit back up? i dunno. bro at the post i just called has no info, so we'll see. probably nothing. but hey, at least we're all awake now, right?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

maybe this is another one of turk 182's pranks!?!?!?

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

i think it's vengeful republicans.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

was it a bomb or the bomb?

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:52 (nineteen years ago)

I blame Citizen Cope.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:52 (nineteen years ago)

i hope someone blew up citizen cope.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:53 (nineteen years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 22:56 (nineteen years ago)

ok still nothing on 1010 wins, this must be nada.

take care folx!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

this probably goes on everyday in every city to a relative degree, but that gothamist alert site and map makes NYC out to be Warriors-land, but just more suspicious packages and less 'fros.

Can UUUUUU DIG EEEEEEEEHT?

gwynywdd dwnyt fyrwr byychydd gww (donut), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

no trains going to broadway-lafayette...

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:05 (nineteen years ago)

still? the mta took the service advisory down. anyway, we're done freaking out here, back to rockin' choice tunes.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

"Jerry, not to freak you out, but the pilot is in the audience."

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:07 (nineteen years ago)

that gothamist map ignores hudson county, NJ -- which is closer to manhattan than goodly portions of the outer boroughs.

ONCE AGAIN, NYC SHOWS US GARDEN STATERS THE BACK OF THE HAND.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:10 (nineteen years ago)

NEW JERSEY IS NOT IN NEW YORK

PROXIMITY TO MANHATTAN IS NOT THE JUDGE OF WHAT IS PART OF NEW YORK CITY

IT'S OKAY, YOU'LL LIVE

ENJOY YOUR LOWER TAXES

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:18 (nineteen years ago)

Has Nabisco been taking noise bored prep class?? Good work, all caps is half the battle!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:19 (nineteen years ago)

HE STARTED YELLING FIRST

IF HE DOESN'T LIKE THE BACKHAND HE CAN START A SITE CALLED CLOSETOMANHATTANIST

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:21 (nineteen years ago)

holy NYC superiority complex nabisco!

xpost

daniel striped tiger (OutDatWay), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:21 (nineteen years ago)

Dude I don't think NYC is superior! It's just that New Jersey is a different state! Why would it be a backhand for a site called GOTHAMIST to have a map of the boroughs of NYC and not include stuff in a whole different state? His question is like saying "this American electoral map does not include Mexico, which is closer to Missouri than goodly parts of New England."

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

nice tombot impression

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:25 (nineteen years ago)

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:27 (nineteen years ago)

Just kidding man! It was the "IT'S OKAY, YOU'LL LIVE" part that threw me.

daniel striped tiger (OutDatWay), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:27 (nineteen years ago)

Ha, like I own real estate anywhere! I had the opposite annoyance at this guy I worked with who was just itching to move from Long Island into Manhattan, and then he did, and as soon as he got his first paycheck he got all pissed: "There's money missing from my paycheck! What the hell!" So I listen to him make a bunch of angry phone calls for an hour, until he figures out he's paying NYC taxes -- and then promptly claims his official place of residence is his parents' place in Long Island. Bastard competes for our real estate but dodges the tax. :(

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 November 2006 23:29 (nineteen years ago)
