I've taken one on-line course and one mixed course that had a couple of on-line sessions. I think I will take another one in the spring. They are fine, except that sometimes they end up being even more work than a regular class, because you end up having to read all of your classmates' comments and respond to them. And the software for messages is that painful tree structure.

I took a Govt. of Texas course online. You were supposed to read the material, read online lectures, discuss the lectures and watch videos that could be downloaded... but I just kinda glanced through the material and took the tests in one go.

Four tests, 25% each, and some extra credit if you wanted it.

I took around 3 library school courses online. They were obnoxious, but that really could have been due to the subject matter. Lots of discussion boards, readings, scatterbrain professors losing your e-mail (with assignments attached), etc. If the professor hasn't streamlined and perfected the posting procedure for assignments, it can be a total nightmare. However, I did have a government documents class (big excitement!) which was half online and my prof did a wonderful job with posting the necessary info in a tutorial format and giving out the assignments right after that.

University at Buffalo (UB) -- School of Information and Library Science. Hot stuff.

Mine was through the UT system. Their offerings are terrible. A few undergrad requirements, some sciences (like biology, but you still had to take a lab on campus, the point of which kind of eluded me) and then nursing/criminology for some reason.
