ilx should thank their lucky stars that we're still putting on threads of this caliber after so many years

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:17 (eighteen years ago)

hello!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:22 (eighteen years ago)

retro mongrels

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

This thread's been going downhill since season 3!

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

Hahah Jim is otm, we've sort of used this subject line before.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

It's a reference to the past!

Don't you guys see that?

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

there are only so many ways one can say "mongrels and sheepfuXors" again and again, yes?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I don't have any original thoughts.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

you'd be surprised! xpost

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

Sometimes I have slight centre parting.

(Not yesterday through, it is on da left)

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:32 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks for new thread. For some reason the username "wrist of oak" disturbed me.

S- (sgh), Thursday, 16 November 2006 08:56 (eighteen years ago)

better a wrist of oak than a wrist of clay

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Thursday, 16 November 2006 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

Hiya Melbourne Mongrels, how's the martial law going over there?

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 23:59 (eighteen years ago)

haven't come up against it

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:00 (eighteen years ago)

the city is pleasantly quiet at the moment

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I dont think shit will go down til tomorrow, and even then I've a feeling this year things wont be a big hassle like they were at the now-rather-humourourly-named S11 forum protests.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

That's because THE MAN has made a stunning opening move and eliminated the VEGETARIAN COMMUNIST PROTESTORS last night thanks to poison lentils.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

Then again what would I know. The thing I think is kind of weird about the globalization protests is, I dont think they are getting any kind of message across. If you asked most people "what is g20 and do you know why people protest it so vigourously?" most average joes would say "no idea, bunch of feral loser commies tho!"

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:03 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder if there's anyone left to sell Green Left Weekly this week!

To be fair to them, not all of them are feral vegan anarchist types HELL BELT ON DESTRUCTION but that's how tha media portrays them so booyah.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

Well, precisely.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:25 (eighteen years ago)

In a climate controlled car on our pay freeways you can ignore the whole thing.

S- (sgh), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:47 (eighteen years ago)

Man it's a lovely day.

Still unemployed, but got heaps of stuff done this morning and there are some promising murmurings from the job sector.

Mike Stuchbery (Mike Stuchbery), Friday, 17 November 2006 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

Nick wants to buy a HD telly tomorrow. We were just going to go to Dick Smiths or JB or somewhere - despite the fact Ive pointed out that Good Guys in brighton are having a massive floorstock clearance sale - but then again we cant get there that easily.

But man it will rule having an LCD HD teevee!

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:11 (eighteen years ago)

it will be cheaper to take a taxi to good guys

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:14 (eighteen years ago)

yeah thats what I reckon. Stupid place is smack bang in between the frankston and sandy train lines, so thats a pain.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:20 (eighteen years ago)

i bought all my whitegoods from there. was v happy.

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:22 (eighteen years ago)

is it bad that i don't mind "sexy back"? am i turning into the lex?

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

Never. You know too much.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:30 (eighteen years ago)

i cant find a fookin job. i suck etc.

Michael B (Michael B), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:46 (eighteen years ago)

i haven't heard any, but if you liked the show 'sweet and sour' it is based on them

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

I have had to listen to JT all week occasionally interspersed with Chavez or Megadeth. It's kind of alarming.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

Why not buy my Ford Festiva, ho ho ho.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

what song is that from

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, and don't think tha ADL doesn't have big logistical problems as well because it's CLASSIC CAR RALLY WEEK.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:50 (eighteen years ago)

i was just listening to 'my city of sydney', its on the peel record box

Michael B (Michael B), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

Finally, I gave notice to my boss at work today. I shall no longer be a part-time under-the-minimum-wage slave from next week!

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:54 (eighteen years ago)

If I ate boiled eggs and they tasted final, and I feel sick now, were they out of date? I can sort of sense an off-gg smell on my breath.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:54 (eighteen years ago)

you ate the final egg and now your breath smells like gg? oh dear

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:55 (eighteen years ago)

tidy your room, write thoughtful cards to your loved ones, lie down quietly under a warm blanket, and wait.

estela (estela), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:58 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, I was sick this morning too, but now I smell OFF EGGS. I don't know if they were bad or not because they are actual real farm eggs not from a carton.

BOO. Why did I eat eggs when I was a bit off? STUPID. Ah, that's why, I didn't want to walk to teh shops.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:01 (eighteen years ago)

if there are any (raw ones) left, drop them into cold water and see if they sink or float. floating means they are off. i usually test eggs before i cook them, it's one of my foibles.

estela (estela), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:03 (eighteen years ago)

None left, damn it.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:04 (eighteen years ago)

eggs are eaten too quickly in my household so they never get the chance to smell like gg

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:05 (eighteen years ago)

Normally I eat them quickly too but my good egg saucepan that's perfect for them died recently. A small hole appeared in the bottom of it - this was an amusing discovery as I left the room to find the stove not working, and kept moving to another burner, until they were all fucked - only then did I notice the whole.

As such I've had eggs seldom lately.

I am going to check the remaining egg(s) if there are any.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

It sank!

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

someone should make a big photoshop of everyone on ILX hanging out without her in it

U magnificent bastard.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:37 (eighteen years ago)

So wanted to excelsior that but so not wanting to attract attentions.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:37 (eighteen years ago)

that was truly fabulous.

actually my first ever post on ilx was a kate zing.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:45 (eighteen years ago)

I felt very bad about laughing at that afterwards, though pretty great while doing so.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:49 (eighteen years ago)

Hey Mikey doesn't kate remind you ov a certain B*linda who showed up unwanted at our FAP recently? =)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 08:42 (eighteen years ago)

Pardon?

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 10:56 (eighteen years ago)

you know we don't mean you, srsly.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

Oh c'mon, Kate (henceforth 'Our Kate' or O.K.), you know we're not talking about you! Why the hell would we start that kinda badness?

Nah, we're talking about Masonic Boom - and you know the Belinda of which we speak!

Mike Stuchbery (Mike Stuchbery), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 11:13 (eighteen years ago)

I rode down Canning Street today.

On Swanston I almost got crushed by a truck that pulled over to park (without indicating). Well that doesn't sound too encouraging but I hope you stick with it, Jim.
Today was a bit windy and that makes biking that bit harder.

spectra (spectra), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I know...I'm just being a pain :)

xpost

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:10 (eighteen years ago)

Phew I was momentarily worried I'd have to xplain that ;)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

there is quite a bit of vacant bleating going on in that vego thread isn't there

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:19 (eighteen years ago)

Isnt there always in such threads? I mean HOW many times have we gone over it, we know who the miltants are, who the moderates are, and who the gleeful shitpokers are. You'd think everyone'd get it by now. But noooo.

Still, some threads have been providing grebt lolfodder in recent days. Keep it up psychos!

PS hi dere all.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

morning. puff. today's ride was easier, thanks to putting more air in my tyres

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)

morning. last day in the wollongong, holla. life is grand. when I don't have horrible anxiety about the whole damn thing.

I started reading that vego thread when it was quite short, and was glad the time difference thing meant my second read was to be 300 posts and just thought "stuff this". It saved me a lot of irritation, tho quoting the lollables would be good.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god public transport sucks.

How do you reconcile biking to work with arriving all sweaty and having to sit in an office all day?

car ready (again) today...

S- (sgh), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

the cool breeze went up my sleeves and kept my armpits and torso dry and fresh

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

aren't you a vision of loveliness

estela (estela), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:35 (eighteen years ago)

I never have many PT problems, but thats cause I've made a point of working slightly outside of peakhour ie 9.30-10 til after 6. Avoid all the crush that way. They totally need to let more people's hours be staggered, if they cant get shit together to fix the damn trains.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:39 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't really have that much of a problem with PT but it's a waste of money and i'm a fatass

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

I sweat like crazy then shower at work

badg (badg), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:52 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, there's the option of shower at work too, but that seems weird, and adds all the time you could've saved doing anything else.

Trayce, I work the same hours as you, but PT is still a major fucking pain. Also, I have transit times of around an hour, with a whole lot of other smelly reprobates.

Much better to spend around 30 mins in a comfortable car, CityLink paid for and a car space in an underground lock up car park.

S- (sgh), Thursday, 8 February 2007 02:49 (eighteen years ago)

Ah, but you're lucky you have that, most people have to pay $15 a day for parking, and city link and petrol. And it can sometimes take longer to get in by car. How can it take you an HOUR to get in on PT? It only takes me 40 mins and thats including a 5-10 min walk at each end.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 02:59 (eighteen years ago)

35 minute ride this morning! equal to the train + walk! evangelise evangelise!

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

yeah an hour wtf, aren't you guys just around the corner from me?

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

oh hang on i'm making the mistake of assuming you work near the city, soz

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:01 (eighteen years ago)

Ah yeah, I assuemd that too.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:07 (eighteen years ago)

I walk two minutes to work...IN SNOOOOW...

King Boy Pato (patog27), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

it takes me 15-20 minutes to work usually. thinking of breaking the bike out meself though, in fact I did start at the start of the year before the heatwave hit.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah when the weather's hot i might reconsider the train, but then it might not make that much of a difference

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:48 (eighteen years ago)

i had to retire my bike last year but my mum just gave me hers! i'm going to be riding again from next week. we have a shower at work so no stinking up the workplace. it takes about 25 min for me to cycle in. and so much fun!

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:01 (eighteen years ago)

although my friends all hate me for saying that as i have a parking bay at my current job.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:06 (eighteen years ago)

stick the bike in it, at a jaunty angle.

you know, (kit brash), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:52 (eighteen years ago)

omg never thought of that. how much would that shit my workmates who don't have a spot! the laffs would be endless. also there is some bureaucratic redtape bullshit that says we can't share the bay with others when not using. of course i am going to recklessly flout that rule! crikey what a rebel.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:55 (eighteen years ago)

morning. cyclists are still jerks but i was faster than the train this morning! woot.

i'll can the daily commentary now

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:32 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, and I was just getting used to it :)

While you were riding the train to work, I think I was feeding my ducks and cleaning out their cage. Exciting!

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

do they get along with the cat?

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

Cats, plural :)

Well the cats aren't allowed outside, but naturally the ducks are, so it kind of works out well, although the cats spend large periods of the day , faces pressed up against the sliding door staring lovingly at the duck enclosure.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Thursday, 8 February 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

I think I meant longingly rather than lovingly....maybe even bloodthirstily.

Hit a cyclist on the way to work while eating a microwaveable pizza roll and using a mobile telephone. Just look at that ding!
