Does anyone fancy a pint next Friday Nov 24th. Fractured www.fractured.info are headlining the B&G, onstage sometime after 10pm.http://www.bullandgate.co.uk/

But regardless of whether you feel like some hot rock action, it would be great to meet some ILXers for ale and maybe a game of pool in the B&G or somewhere close by. Anyone up for this?

That's us hot rockin if you click on thee link. It was supposed to come out as a picture, but I didn't do it right, I think.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 16 November 2006 14:58 (nineteen years ago)

I can make this I think. I'm not keen on the B&G as a pub itself though so a FAP within spitting distance would be nice. Maybe the Pineapple?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:02 (nineteen years ago)

Assembly house?

Ed (dali), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:03 (nineteen years ago)

It's the Doc!

I think, if I'm free, I'd like to come for a pint and a gig!

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:03 (nineteen years ago)

There was a FAP nearby once before - masses of people crammed into a tiny room. Can't remember which pub though.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:07 (nineteen years ago)

I think it was the Pineapple? I seem to recall talking to Rob B and Rob B about Star Wars videogames there despite having never ever played any myself!

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:15 (nineteen years ago)

That was the Pineapple, which is a bigger pub than that FAP would suggest. I think the first few people sat in a very small corner and everyone else crammed in there afterwards.

I haven't been to the Assembly Rooms.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:32 (nineteen years ago)

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 16 November 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

New acronym for Fancy A Pint should be LONDON.

teh_kit (g-kit), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:12 (nineteen years ago)

Is there a Kentish Town anywhere else in the UK? (Even in Kent?)

Breaking Under The Crush (kate), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:14 (nineteen years ago)

You could probably go to this and still get home before some people who actually live within Zone 6

2 american 4 u (blueski), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:16 (nineteen years ago)

It worries me that you know where i live.
FAP + A13 = jail/death

teh_kit (g-kit), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

Don't you have these amazing things called TRAINS in Essex?

Breaking Under The Crush (kate), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:20 (nineteen years ago)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:22 (nineteen years ago)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:23 (nineteen years ago)

Can anyone tell me anything about the Assembly House? Is there likely to be room for a FAP?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:24 (nineteen years ago)

phone ahead lol

2 american 4 u (blueski), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

We've had FAPs in places that weren't london! In fact, you've been to some, Ken!

I've FAPed in Cambridge, Oxford, Brighton, Liverpool, Ramsgate...

Breaking Under The Crush (kate), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

Depends whether there's a big gig on at the Forum, it gets pretty rammed between seven and nine if there is. It's a large pub though.

I would pop my head in for this, but my schedule is chock a block this Friday.

chap who would dare to welcome our new stingray masters (chap), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:39 (nineteen years ago)

Nothing on at the Forum on Fri.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 20 November 2006 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

I was one of the "first people" at that Pineapple gathering. It was in the heady days when Jerry the Nipper was a local resident. We did end up kind of boxed in. I can't remember much else about it. As usual, somebody fancied the barmaid. I think she engaged in some kind of friendly banter with us, not knowing that this inevitably leads to being fancied.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 20 November 2006 15:03 (nineteen years ago)

Ah! Is that the secret, then? Dispense banter and booze?

Breaking Under The Crush (kate), Monday, 20 November 2006 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

The Pineapple barmaids have a habit of being quite comely.

chap who would dare to welcome our new stingray masters (chap), Monday, 20 November 2006 15:07 (nineteen years ago)

Also a low cut bodice/dirndl and a collection of saucy winks and expressions.

Ed (dali), Monday, 20 November 2006 15:16 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe it's time you revived that thread, Ken.

teh_kit (g-kit), Monday, 20 November 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

The Pinefox is showing interest. I am interested in this barmaid thing.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 16:33 (nineteen years ago)

i might have to learn more puns from shit tv comedies before i revive any more threads kit.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 16:37 (nineteen years ago)

All gatherings/events in Kentish Town should happen on Tuesdays.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 16:39 (nineteen years ago)

Why?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 16:44 (nineteen years ago)

St Et lyric, the only thing I know about Kentish Town.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 11:57 (nineteen years ago)

The review and the rating don't seem to match in any way, shape or form on that one. They quite like it but give it a two pints.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 11:59 (nineteen years ago)

What's the most pints they give?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

well if you read between the lines it says "this used to be a shit pub, but now they've tidied it up a bit, could be worse".

i *think* there are a small handful of five pinters...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

It's a bit of a characterless barn, the Assembly Rooms. Very noisy on Friday nights, full of post-work office drinks.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 14:45 (nineteen years ago)

The Pineapple is lovely and does have a room out the back that we didn't really venture into last time.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 14:48 (nineteen years ago)

The George & Dragon in Shoreditch gets a full five pints and that place is a hole.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

Feck! I meant to link to The Pineapple, but for some reason linked to the Assembly Rooms. Anyway :

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 22 November 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

IIRC, some people came in through a secret door at the Pineapple, right at the back.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Thursday, 23 November 2006 09:10 (nineteen years ago)

Really? I want to do that.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 23 November 2006 09:14 (nineteen years ago)

I don't quite know what Laurel is talking about.

I miss FAPs. I wonder if I will have to miss this one. I hope not, really.

I am not sure how the FAP and the gig relate: are people going to start at one, then go to the other?

Trouble for me is, I am supposed to be elsewhere tomorrow night. But possibly I could forget about that, this time.

the pinefox (the pinefox), Thursday, 23 November 2006 15:21 (nineteen years ago)

I miss FAPs too.

2 american 4 u (blueski), Thursday, 23 November 2006 15:21 (nineteen years ago)

PF - I was hoping to meet some folks for a FAP in the Pineapple. I have not Fapped for too long! Obv I hope some people will make it across to the Bull and Gate for the gig, but I know how it is.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 23 November 2006 15:37 (nineteen years ago)

So, when does this FAP start? Or have I missed that fact upthread?

the pinefox (the pinefox), Thursday, 23 November 2006 16:48 (nineteen years ago)

I'll be around from 6.30 ish. Is anyone else coming?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 23 November 2006 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

I'd kinda like to, but nah.

teh_kit (g-kit), Thursday, 23 November 2006 16:51 (nineteen years ago)

2 london 4 u?

2 american 4 u (blueski), Thursday, 23 November 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

teh_kit (g-kit), Thursday, 23 November 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)
