I've just added the script to a work webpage. From what I can tell, it's better than any other free tracking system I've come across. Is there a better (free) system out there?

That, I do not know. I'm not sure how it ties into Google AdWords, as I don't use them for the page I manage.

Part of me really loves Google (Analytics is really cool! All those pie charts and maps!), but I'm starting to feel a bit worried about the fact that I'm just contributing to a giant, all-powerful database somewhere.

I doubt it. You have to put the script in the HTML right before the tag, and that's something you can't mess with on Myspace. But, perhaps if you use one of those Myspace editor things you can. Actually, I have no clue. I'm just talking nonsense now.

so i'm running this now -- do y'all use this? or mint (http://haveamint.com/)? google analytics is probably good enough though if you don't need yr date in realtime, right?
