kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:01 (nineteen years ago)

DRAGON BONG Z (teenagequiet), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:02 (nineteen years ago)

did they have an oversized, riced-out SUV with a garish station logo on the side?

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

tried to get one; couldn't convince the SGA it was an acceptable use of student activities fees

DRAGON BONG Z (teenagequiet), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

did they have weekend-long schedules where they played entire blocks of the best classic and new rock?

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

What's it like on the other side? Does the sky get so blue that you could just take a bite out of it? Do you ever get to smell that clean wet scent that comes right after it's rained in a meadow? Do all the pretty horses run wild, with their legs kicking and their manes flowing? Tell me, teeny, what's it like outside of this stuffy, oppressive radio station? Tell me so I can continue to dream.

And hope.

What was the "wackiest" name of an on-air personality or duo at either of you guys's stations?

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:40 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not either of them but I will answer for them: Beetle Bob.

stoked for the madness (nickalicious), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:48 (nineteen years ago)

Although he's not so much wacky as fucking weird.

stoked for the madness (nickalicious), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

Beetle Bob is a radio guy? I just thought he was some random fan who showed up here & there

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

When I first met him he was vaguely associated with some St. Louis radio station, I think. That was almost 10 years ago though.

here ya go

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 17 November 2006 22:48 (nineteen years ago)

actually my station was cool and nobody had a goofy name (and even if they did, so what, there's a certain fun to hokey radio, earnestness is even faker sometimes) and I had a lot of fun there and it was a terriffic job to have in my 20s but it's not fun to get old in radio especially if you're a girl, the pay is just shit and after a while I did everything I wanted to do and I really did get incredibly tired of all the sales department bullshit, hawking cars and beer specials all weekend after 60 hour weeks so I'm glad I got lucky and was able to go do something else I enjoyed.
