Anthony, you didn't run any precarious attachments to any e-mail sent to you recently, have you?

You have downloaded a nasty sort of virus. It comes in the form of a song that you want but instead of downloading the song you have downloaded the virus. What it does is replicate everything, every mp3, temporary internet files, practically everything on your computer making it slow down at an impossible pace and crash alot. it's eating it's way through your system at teh moment. But that's not all....you can delete the script files but it's hidden deep inside your computer that virus program. It's listed under a very odd name....something that you would not normally think - oh that's the virus program. But what I was saying is that you can delete the script files but it does not matter - they will just come back again.

Should have gotten virus scanner!

The funny thing 'bout that virus is that it lives on - at this very moment people are downloading your infected files and then passing them on to their computer and then ... and so and so and so.

Who knows?

You may have downloaded it from me?

Anthony, it sounds like you might have gotten the same virus I did: the "Loveletter virus. I've tried cleaning it out, and it hasn't really worked. I've been advised to format my hard drive. Yeah, it's fucking annoying, I know. It destroyed tons of precious jpegs and, uhm, *luckily* it seemed to leave my mp3s intact. The mp3s looked as if they had been wiped out and replaced by the vbs files, but actually they were hidden. This might be the case in your situation, too, so try this: Open "My Computer" (or any folder in Windows, really), click on "View" and then click on "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab, doubleclick on the "Hidden Files" briefcase icon, and choose "Show All Files". Now look at your mp3 folders and see if you can see any of your "lost" mp3s. (They should appear as transparent icons).

Oh yeah. The MP3's? Gone. Everytime you click on the VB Script file it just sends the command to replicate throughout your entire system again.........so hint - do not click on the VB Script file.
