I made them! They are comics! Gaze upon me! Warning: biggish images enclosed

Whoa! All my text and spacing disappeared! There are four one-page comics there. That's all that really needs known.

Oh god WTF that's only two of them. Other two to come.

Everyone needs to wear spectacles.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 03:51 (nineteen years ago)

OK these rule Abbott :D I love the detail and the rambly word bits - reminds me of Johnen V's early stuff. I wish I could draw.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:37 (nineteen years ago)

i like these

the car, the hole, and the peekskill meteorite (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:40 (nineteen years ago)

the car, the hole, and the peekskill meteorite (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:40 (nineteen years ago)

These are indeed v. v. cool.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:45 (nineteen years ago)

The rest I made are really specific parodies of Idaho county politics, it would be like reading a cracked out RAMBLER or TATTLER.

Abbott (Abbott), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:46 (nineteen years ago)

did you do those comics with that guy talking about schizophrenia on that schizophrenia thread too?

ath (ath), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:48 (nineteen years ago)

No, that was Chester Brown.

Abbott (Abbott), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:49 (nineteen years ago)

I can't do comics like "American Splendor" or Chester Brown or R. Crumb where it's just the same guy's head talking. They are boring to draw & I can't draw characters consistently.

Abbott (Abbott), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:50 (nineteen years ago)

One approach to that, that one of my comic-drawin' friends does, is to scan a character and just re-use it, doing some of the work in Photoshop instead of all by hand.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:55 (nineteen years ago)

Tho you might end up with more of a Red Meat look I guess.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:55 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah that shit drives me really nuts. I hated when Jhonen V made a font for JTHM's speech about 3/4 way through the series. Scott Adams did this with Dilbert. It really hurts me although I know how hard it is to pencil, ink in text, etc.

Abbott (Abbott), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 04:58 (nineteen years ago)

This is wonderful stuff!

Good! The sort of rambly nature of these comics is part of what makes them so great! Which they are!

"Activity page" looks like a Parliament Funkadelic album cover.
