I rarely listen to The World At One with my working hours - but listening to it in future will be a bit weird, with someone else's voice. And what about Round Britain Quiz?

I'm quite shocked. I too liked his voice.

I only ever heard this programme with my parents. I suppose they will notice his absence more than I will. I remember how Round Britain quiz would come on after his news programme. On that, he would give people endless help towards getting the right, elaborate and convoluted answer. It wasn't the toughest quiz in that sense. I liked the sense of civility it conveyed.
