Pete (Pete), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:11 (eighteen years ago)

Sean Rowley fired from BBC Radio London as Guilty Pleasures TM ratings suddenly plummet

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:20 (eighteen years ago)

Not if we keep playing tracks picked primarily for the lack of the copyright holder caring that we have played it!

All your favourite items: Tanya Headon's I Hate Music, Tom Ewing's Popular, Video's On The Radio, The Shipping Forecast Of Culture, Dr Pub...

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:22 (eighteen years ago)

Peeling sprouts is a VERY resonance-esque thing to do with yr veg.

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:26 (eighteen years ago)

Yay! Enjoyed the pilot immensely. It sounded like clever people in a pub talking drunkenly (good thing), which I assume was the idea. Tanya's piece was a revelation. I'll be tuning (my browser) in on Sunday no probs.

Johnney B English (stigoftdump), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:27 (eighteen years ago)

Popular really ought to be a proper, full-blown series, playing everything from Al Martino onwards. Don't know why Radio 2 haven't picked up on the concept.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:28 (eighteen years ago)

People peel sprouts in January?

(Same Mark S/Tim/Kat/Tracer panel, I assume?)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:28 (eighteen years ago)

In view of the imminent Arctic Freeze (copyright: Daily Express, Science Fiction Dept) would it not be a more helpful idea to teach listeners how to prefab their sprouts?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

Tanya may not have recovered from her New Years Eve hangover by Sunday, but there will be replacement items and possibly the sound of us cracking open beers (downside of 12pm start, pubs not open yet for pre-show cocktails).

And Americans, if you miss the sound of that Tracer Hand's voice, here is where to go.

Show 1 has same line up, it starts changing from show 2. One day I will be allowed out from behind the desk.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:30 (eighteen years ago)

sandbox thread for the pilot (includes link to mp3 which should work) for anyone who missed it: http://ilx.thehold.net/thread.php?msgid=34830

reverto levidensis (blueski), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:32 (eighteen years ago)

The MP3 is also in FreakyTrigger.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 4 January 2007 13:58 (eighteen years ago)

This starts in FIVE MINUTES! On http://www.resonancefm.com/

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 7 January 2007 11:57 (eighteen years ago)

hope it's been recorded :(

reverto levidensis (blueski), Sunday, 7 January 2007 12:55 (eighteen years ago)

I wouldn't know how!

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 7 January 2007 12:56 (eighteen years ago)

hoping they've recorded it their end

reverto levidensis (blueski), Sunday, 7 January 2007 12:57 (eighteen years ago)

THE LOST EPISODE!

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 7 January 2007 12:58 (eighteen years ago)

Confirmation that Daphne & Celeste had a dead rabbit thrown at them and considered it a compliment

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 7 January 2007 13:00 (eighteen years ago)

The repeat ending was deliberate, I'm sure, or maybe they could have used that extra minute to finish "Ernie"!

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 7 January 2007 13:02 (eighteen years ago)

"We'll be launching our new sexy image soon," adds Celeste, with a hint of menace. "It'll be similar to B*Witched."

gawd luv em

reverto levidensis (blueski), Sunday, 7 January 2007 13:06 (eighteen years ago)

i recorded it and am currently uploading it to FT, but it's taking a while as i think my upstream pipe is quite slow...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 7 January 2007 13:42 (eighteen years ago)

blimey, that was a right faff. anyway, it's up now :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 7 January 2007 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

Nice one...

KeefW (kmw), Sunday, 7 January 2007 14:20 (eighteen years ago)

I'm always going to be asleep or just stirring when this is done so hurrah for archiving! :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 7 January 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)

I miss Daphne & Celeste. ;_;

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:26 (eighteen years ago)

Downloadable version please...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

On again this Sunday - with a new panelist in the form of Pete. 12 noon GMT on Resonance FM.

We don't have anyone to record it though (unless Steve M is).

Tom (Groke), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)

i won't be able to unfortunately.

reverto levidensis (blueski), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

surely you can get it recorded in the studio itself?

reverto levidensis (blueski), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

And we due to our Market Research connections we are able to reveal the all new, downloads and all, UK number one at just before 1pm every week. What will it be?

Egyptian God, Venn Diagrams and grumpy old badgers all appear in this weeks pulse pounding answer to a Prarie Home Companion.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:43 (eighteen years ago)

Will we be able to phone in and request songs for Pete to sing?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, steve we will. but you will have to wait HOURS while we loll (and lol) in the pub afterwards...

Matt of course not! By which I mean you must.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

I listened to 18 minutes of the first one and I think everyone had been on the bong.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 12 January 2007 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

you are incorrect

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 13 January 2007 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

No drugs cross our radio lips. Though they might today.

Pete (Pete), Sunday, 14 January 2007 09:39 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry about the delay, it took forever to upload: http://freakytrigger.co.uk/ft/2007/01/freaky-trigger-and-the-lollards-of-pop-week-2/

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 14 January 2007 13:57 (eighteen years ago)

I lolled hard at:
* mark s feeling the need to intervene when Pete made the dubious assertion that prior to new maths, the connection between numbers and quantities in the real world had not been made
* "Then it is an aardvark"
* The definition of a clanger
* Malky Way

Pete sounds unusual on the radio.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 14 January 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

Posher.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 14 January 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

Feyer.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Sunday, 14 January 2007 17:56 (eighteen years ago)

Porkpie (porkpie), Sunday, 14 January 2007 22:53 (eighteen years ago)

i like this bar

m@p (plosive), Sunday, 14 January 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)

much barer than other bars

tiit (tiit), Sunday, 14 January 2007 23:16 (eighteen years ago)

I listened to this one on the way in this morning (this is swiftly becoming my Monday morning routine). Best one yet I thought, you've got it all flowing quite nicely now.

Also BADGERS ON ACID!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 15 January 2007 12:14 (eighteen years ago)

Need more of Badgers On Acid, it was great. There is clearly a reason why Hardcore Nation 2 is impossible to find in the shops.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 15 January 2007 12:25 (eighteen years ago)

http://www.base58.com/ilx/badger1.gif

best show yet, perhaps. tho i missed Tim's dulcet tones.

vita susicivus (blueski), Monday, 15 January 2007 12:39 (eighteen years ago)

does anyone have an mp3 of episode 2?

m@p (plosive), Monday, 15 January 2007 13:47 (eighteen years ago)

It's upthread:
http://freakytrigger.co.uk/ft/2007/01/freaky-trigger-and-the-lollards-of-pop-week-2/

Alba (Alba), Monday, 15 January 2007 13:48 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, but not an actual mp3, in portable form.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 15 January 2007 14:33 (eighteen years ago)

if you click that link and view source you can find the URL for the file directly.

vita susicivus (blueski), Monday, 15 January 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

Sounding good Tim! And excellent giggling!

Pete (Pete), Sunday, 28 January 2007 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

How does one download this for consumption at at later date?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:00 (eighteen years ago)

What I do (and this may be stupidly longwinded) is I go to the link provided, look at the HTML source code, search for the address of the actual MP3 file (full of nonsense like "%2fs" instead of slashes and colons this week), cut and paste that into another browser window and then "Save Page As".

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:17 (eighteen years ago)

(I was able to listen to it all on the way to work this morning thanks to the X68 driver ignoring the traffic news and going through the roadworks hell of Camberwell...)

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:20 (eighteen years ago)

I'm rather behind on these but will give Weeks 3 and 4 a spin tonight.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:24 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know how to look at the source code. I have tried, honest.

Spookily, the real Judith Chalmers was on last night.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

Capital forecast, Michael.

vita susicivus (blueski), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

(why, is she dead or summat?) (xpost TIMING!)

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:46 (eighteen years ago)

you can subscribe to the rss feed to get the latest downloads automatically (or old ones too if you like). there are links at the top of the sidebar of every podcast post.

(obv the files should always be online to play too.)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

Capital forecast, Michael.

Cheers! Tim H did it with so much more character, y'know, but I understand the need to break up the hour with different voices. (If anyone wants to do some broadcast-quality pre-recording for future shows, I'm only a 25min bus ride from the end of the Victoria Line. And if that doesn't put you off, the two screaming kids will, I guess).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:02 (eighteen years ago)

not more character, just different perhaps, but then, i know your character (i think?)

i think alix could pop-forecast good too but then i would say that.

vita susicivus (blueski), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:13 (eighteen years ago)

we loved it michael! obv the material wz komedy gold

mark s (mark s), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

I thought the whole show was very good this week and Alix was great.

obv the material wz komedy gold

I only got the "You Decide" joke about three hours after I read it! A good thing, cos the (bad) Geordie/Mackem accent would've crept in. I want to know what pitch-shifting jiggerypokery is going on with Dr Drugs.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:26 (eighteen years ago)

I am up to the cheese frying bit. It is much improved from week one. I don't believe you are in Sidmouth.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:41 (eighteen years ago)

That was "Talk Talk" by Talk Talk and that's quite enough of that.

No respect, kids today...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 29 January 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)

New installment now up on FT: http://freakytrigger.co.uk/lollards-podcast/2007/02/freaky-trigger-and-the-lollards-of-pop-week-5/

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 4 February 2007 13:32 (eighteen years ago)

Sandy Toksvik has been listening, she mentioned shoes with compasses in the feet on the news quiz on friday.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 4 February 2007 14:09 (eighteen years ago)

I see Tracer is now trying to sound as non-NPRish as possible.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Sunday, 4 February 2007 15:22 (eighteen years ago)

I wasn't presenting, that was mark s!

Elsa Svitborg (tracerhand), Sunday, 4 February 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

Wait, Mark was Dr. Brand?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Sunday, 4 February 2007 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

Eli's voice on Dr Brand was an imitation of my Dr Brand voice (poor Eli) cos I was busy and couldn't record it.

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 4 February 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

all the doctors are REAL PEOPLE, obviously :)

apologies for slight shambolicness today, whole host of reasons...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 4 February 2007 17:43 (eighteen years ago)

I blame hstencil.

Elsa Svitborg (tracerhand), Sunday, 4 February 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

i had to do everyone else's voice today

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 4 February 2007 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

Oh good grief, Tom + Pete + Sarah on this one. Tim will have his work cut out.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 11 February 2007 12:03 (eighteen years ago)

i think they're doing alright.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 11 February 2007 12:48 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, corking stuff. Well done all of you.

(I've never listened live before, I should do it more often)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 11 February 2007 13:43 (eighteen years ago)

Ha, Tom started talking about colic and changelings and my kids started playing up. This is why I don't tend to listen live. What little I heard over Underground Ernie was good.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Sunday, 11 February 2007 13:45 (eighteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Listening to the show today I hit my head on the corner of a door because the lollards had transported my mind to another world!

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 25 February 2007 18:17 (eighteen years ago)

http://freakytrigger.co.uk/lollards is the link, by the way. i'm not sure anybody ever actually linked to the show on this thread!

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 25 February 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

When I was walking home at 3am once, I once worked out how far it was to the moon expressed as a number of journeys between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Unsurprisingly, I can't remember what the answer was.

Keith, Sunday, 25 February 2007 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

Shit, I just posted to ILM by accident but I'll do it here too... Paging Tim Hopkins, paging Tim Hopkins... Please pick up the white courtesy phone and drop me a line.

Aaron W, Sunday, 25 February 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

New Lollardry from 12 today - me, Dr Thomson, Mark S, M4gnvs and Pete on the knobs. It will be "wide ranging". It will also feature Joan Jet fighting Low in a gladiatorial death pit.

Groke, Sunday, 11 March 2007 10:32 (eighteen years ago)

That play you all gave to Kronos reminds me..what ws that choir does Sabbath thing that ws played a few weeks ago?

xyzzzz__, Sunday, 11 March 2007 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

Rondellus

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 11 March 2007 16:07 (eighteen years ago)

three weeks pass...
last show of the series tomorrow! and it's a subject very dear to all our hearts...

CarsmileSteve, Saturday, 7 April 2007 21:14 (eighteen years ago)

I presume you don't require my services this time round? I haven't received a script or nuttin'...

Michael Jones, Saturday, 7 April 2007 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

I would love to hear Michael rounding things off.

Alba, Saturday, 7 April 2007 23:10 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god, you're talking about pie, aren't you?

Matt DC, Saturday, 7 April 2007 23:14 (eighteen years ago)

Since pie consists of everything then yes. But yes.

Tomorrows show is a bit - er - thrown together...

Pete, Saturday, 7 April 2007 23:47 (eighteen years ago)

Is there a murder?

Alba, Sunday, 8 April 2007 09:13 (eighteen years ago)

I was going to ring up the posse at the end as Mr Angry from Purley, but it just didn't happen.

Michael Jones, Sunday, 8 April 2007 12:16 (eighteen years ago)

I'm totally eating a pot pie for dinner, in honor of Tracer LYING ABOUT AMERICA.

nabisco, Sunday, 8 April 2007 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah? Well I'm not eating one for dinner, in honor of Pete LYING ABOUT PI. ("3.1415 made-up number made-up number made-up number made-up number...")

^@^, Sunday, 8 April 2007 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

My piece of paper went missing and I forgot my piems which helped me remember. If that's the only bit of maths that bothered you then I'm doing fine!

Pete, Monday, 9 April 2007 07:25 (eighteen years ago)

seven months pass...

This is on again. Right here right now: Mark Sinker is talking about hats.
rtsp://real2.commedia.org.uk/broadcast/resonance.rm

Pete, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 19:28 (seventeen years ago)

YES YES SO HAPPY

nabisco, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

I think I had an RL discussion with nabisco about hats once. Maybe I should tune in to hear the mark s POV so I can settle once and for all the question raised on this thread

James Redd and the Blecchs, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 19:43 (seventeen years ago)

These are so, so good to listen to on the commute into work in the morning. Which is why I haven't heard this yet.

It's up as a podcast on FreakyTrigger now, by the way.

Someone needs to get working on that bosh remix of the theme tune.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 21:15 (seventeen years ago)

Theme tune went on forever since previous studio occupants had to clear out a massive keyboard and guitar. And uh, apologies for playing the wrong 2 Unlimited song at first!!
