banged little toe in apartment, bruised a day later. Taped it to its neighbor; no time to see doc before vacation. Limping slightly. I'll be OK?

maybe. I dropped a hardcover book on my toe in Dec 2008. it started bleeding a few hours later and then a new toenail started growing underneath the old one, which had stopped growing a few months earlier due to nailbed damage or something. so I have two toenails on one toe, and the other week it decided to go and get itself infected, which resulted in having to choke down 28 horsepills containing the strongest antibiotics possible and an inability to walk in shoes due to the gross swollenness of the thing.
surely if you're still limping from banging the little toe you should see someone about it?

Dec 2007, rather.
yeah, SHOULD. No time before vacation in 45 hours. I hate life.

I have no bleeding, so I'm going to assume salsa's Worst Case Scenario doesn't apply to me. Whew!

i mean second-worst case is that it's broken but doc would just do exactly what you did (tape it to next toe). you'll be ok.
going anywhere interesting?

I feel you -- I tripped on my basement steps 3 weeks ago, banged my big toe on my right foot up really good, and it's STILL bruised and sore now.

ingrown toenail. second time. first was sufficiently terrifying that i am not looking forward to this. They basically inject enough anesthetic directly into your toe that it plumps up like a hot dog. Then they cut the nail out and pare back the offending skin. All while you watch! oh boy oh boy

That's funny (not haha funny), because I just had a toenail removed. They did shoot it up with lidocaine, but they didn't make me look.

this guy totally did NOT make me look and in fact said he wasn't gonna let me because if I pass out it's difficult to do the work.i jogged to the appointment and now i need crutches. boo.
