I'm guessing you're using a laptop with a numeric kepyad ghosted over that area? Chances are you've just turned on the function lock (normally 'ctrl'+'fn' I think)...

CraigG (Craig Gilchrist), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:47 (nineteen years ago)

which operating system?

New Mark H (New MarkH), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:48 (nineteen years ago)

how come "uiojkl" came out as "uiojkl" when you asked the question?

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

sounds like your using a laptop, press the 'fn' button plus one of the lock keys (usually of similar colour to the fn key) (try them all!)

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

laptop.

the function button is in the bottom left corner, i pressed it by mistake, dont know what with tho..maybe alt or control or the windows key and almost certainly with the i key which is now making 5s

just tried ctrl + fn, no joy. yeah it has the numeric keypad over those keys, exactly.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:50 (nineteen years ago)

lex pretend (lex pretend), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:50 (nineteen years ago)

in fact it might be the 'num lock' key, (+ fn key)

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:50 (nineteen years ago)

thank you ste! iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii am very gratefuuuuuuuuuuulllllllll

in answer to alan's question, cos i was holding down the function key!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 14:51 (nineteen years ago)

Going over to fix someone's computer only to find out their notepad is holding down the space bar is one of the more frustrating times I've spent at work.

or that they're dead and slumped on top of several buttons, thus making that annoying beeping sound.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:05 (nineteen years ago)

sorry, was off topic

That looks like to intro to a 60s sci-fi TV series.

(the wheel thing, not the shoes)

Johnney B English (stigoftdump), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:12 (nineteen years ago)

They are not shoes, they are keys in little leather bags.

It is the Key to the Zodiac, apparently.

Do Not Feed The Crush (kate), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:52 (nineteen years ago)

SRSLY. And how, exactly, are they 'keys'?

g00blar (gooblar), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:53 (nineteen years ago)

obviously texas just isn't very FUN-KEY

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:53 (nineteen years ago)

If you look at their "bodies" you can see that they have serrated key edges.

Seriously, that's pretty freaky, though. I mean, how would you get them into locks, as their legs would be in the way?

Do Not Feed The Crush (kate), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

Oh jesus. Now I can't un-see the keys.

g00blar (gooblar), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

Two fun-key puns in one day? When you're hot your hot . . .

Presumably they do the splits and slot in nicely.

Johnney B English (stigoftdump), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 15:56 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, but THINK ABOUT THAT. No, don't, it's too ... icky.
