I wonder if I can take the one I have in the fridge from last time...for my cough...

It is 7 months old, is it still good?

1mg of codeine isn't going to do anything for you. except maybe quiet your cough.

yeah it's still good. however, i don't know about the proportions you listed - AC should be 100mg guaifenesin and 10mg codeine/5ml syrup.

i know 240 guaifed exists, when i worked in a pharmacy a thousand years ago i seem to remember it was given to kids. not sure about the codeine dosage, but 1 mg isn't going to depress your cns enough to affect breathing which means it won't help with your cough.

bah. the main result i got from codeine syrup was a terribly upset stomach. it didn't seem to be any more effective as a cough suppressant than the otc stuff.

When I was a kid my father had a wicked jones for Terpin Hydrate, swilling it all the time. For his "cough," which was actually a smoker's hack.

it will take about 4 tbsp to get any sort of effect from the codeine. and i'm not sure what that dosage of the other ingredients would do to you.

codeine and hydrocodone syrups have been making my 4 month duration cough bearable at night, but it makes me itch all over too (though generally not enough to keep me awake, just enough that it invades my dreams).

I remember terpin hydrate. Also, these throat lozenges that were like discs of gray cardboard, tasted of licorice, and were packed full of chloroform.

i have been taking buckley's dm (dextromethorphan and pseudoephedrine with some camphor/menthol/etc) but it's not knocking my cough out or getting rid of the chest congestion.

i was actually surprised to see it on the shelf because i didn't think drugstores even sold dm cough syrups or pseudoephedrine anymore! excuse me, i have to go start a meth lab now.

You can buy this stuff as time-release pills (Mucinex and generic store brands) - I'm not sure it actually does much. You're supposed to drink a bunch of water with it, which is probably as effective.

I was able to buy Sudafed down your way jbr, but I had to sign for it and could only get one box at a time or something.

in cook county, il. you have to sign for anything with pseudoephedrine and i think there's a limit to how much you can buy per trip. but there's no law to stop you from hitting 50 walgreens a day.
