Basically, a slightly more somber Brit version of The Sunshine Boys (plus another Matthau vehicle, Kotch) plus lechery and more cute oldguy cursing. I wouldn't have guessed in a century that Hanif Kureishi wrote this. Pete is irresistible but there ain't much else (tho Vanessa Redgrave, still hot with a cane).

At a half-full Friday 4pm show, I was one of the few who didn't pay Senior Citizen admission, and I tellya the medication jokes killed.

I don't see much enthusiasm for this, even in those who want to give O'Toole an Oscar. Sounds like it's not much better than True Grit.

(I have My Favorite Year, which I've not seen in close to 15 years, sitting on my table)

Your first sentence killed my already non-existent desire to see this one, Morbs, as I think The Sunshine Boys would show up on a list of my top 10 least favorite films ever.

four months pass...

Dull and formless except for the scenes with Redgrave (god, is she ever less than amazing?) and the scene in which Venus asks O'Toole to lick her vagina-wet finger.
