The Bronx 1960: Freedomland

I had no idea of this until today. There was a "Disneyland east" (not Disney affiliated) theme park built in the Bronx in 1960 called Freedomland:

It closed in 1964 due to the World's Fair.

yeah, it was on the site where co-op city is now (where my grandma lived from when it opened until she died a few years ago).

it wasn't really disneyland, it was more like an "american history" theme park.
