Dragoons have carabines, though.

Uhlans are a kind of lancer, actually.

Zouave muzzerfuckerz, indeed.

Since we copied everything military from the French before 1871, the U.S. govt. bought 10,000 French Chasseurs à pied uniforms from the Napoleon III right before the war but it was one-time thing since they were too small, generally for American troops.

Also, how often do you get to say the word 'sabretache'? I mean, c'mon.

Weren't Dragoons supposed to fight dismounted? That's no way for a man to die.

I don't have anything to add to this thread, but I love it.

Depending on what era, yes. Rapidly deployable light infantry

That's no way for a man to die.

If you recall, the point of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

Tell me about it. Using big brushes is even worse, though.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 18 January 2007 23:19 (nineteen years ago)

"Cuirassier and cuirassier," said Alice as, with one deft motion, she stabbed the vacancy where the the Cheshire Cat's eye had recently been.
