I wonder if he played his gun-tar?

Nugent, a hunting and gun-rights advocate, couldn't be reached for comment Thursday because he was hunting, a spokeswoman said.

Ted, White, and Blue
by Ted Nugent
Regnery Publishing, Inc.; ISBN: 1596985550
Hardcover - 256 pages (October 2008)

Buckle Up America, Ted Nugent Is Driving

America has been craving leadership—and at last a gun-slinging, mega-rock star, deerslayer, and patriot has stepped forward to provide it: make way for Ted Nugent.

Cocked, locked, and ready to rock, the Motor City Madman, the thinking man’s Abraham Lincoln, has unleashed the ultimate high-octane political manifesto for the ages in Ted, White, and Blue: The Nugent Manifesto—the most important patriotic statement since the Constitution. In Ted, White, and Blue you’ll discover:

* Why war is the answer to so many of our current problems
* Why if Ted were a Mexican, he’d start a revolution (and how, since he’s not, we can control our own borders)
* How to put Uncle Sam on a diet (a waste-watchers program for government)
* The Ted Plan for energy independence by 2018—how to keep America rockin’ into the future
* How to change the world for the better through the power of God, guns, and rock ‘n’ roll

If you care about America, if you want to preserve, protect, and defend the land of the free and the home of the brave, if you’re fed up with lazy, whining, fear mongering, government-gorging Al Gores, Michael Moores, and Obamaniacs, then you need to read Ted, White, and Blue.

The Budweiser-and-buffalo-wing-stained shag carpet that is Ted Nugent has once again taken the nation's discourse and added a squealing, self-indulgent solo via this Washington Times op-ed, in which the political thinker /"Yank Me, Crank Me" singer takes Chief Justice John Roberts to task for his recent healthcare vote, using typically rational terms. Along with branding Roberts a "traitor" and a "turncoat" for refusing to strike down Obama's program, thus engineering "the ultimate demise of this great experiment in self- government," Nugent comes to the conclusion that "because our legislative, judicial and executive branches of government hold the 10th Amendment in contempt, I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War." Nugent adds that he is only just now beginning to wonder about that hypothetical alternative, like just sort of thinking aloud right now, because "our Founding Fathers' concept of limited government is dead" and certainly for no other reason.

Cleveland SCENE had an interview with Nugent in its 6/27 issue that included this pungent turd:

In the 2011 song "I Still Believe," you sing about how you still believe in the American Dream. President Obama is a firm believer in the American Dream too. Do the both of you essentially want the same thing for our country?

I couldn't disagree more. The evidence is irrefutable that a man raised by communists, educated by socialists, preached to and married by a venomous America hater, and aligned with Mao Tse Tung fans couldn't possibly believe in the real American Dream. I mean, c'mon, the guy quotes Mao, the founder of communism, then visits the Vietnam Memorial feigning respect for those American heroes who died fighting Mao's dream and you fail to admit that this man is the enemy of America? That's rich and very sad. My American Dream is based on the self-evident truths and God-given individual rights outlined and guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. My dream is polar opposite of this president and his gang of gun-runners.

This week they printed this letter:

I just finished your Nugent interview ["Motor City Madman," June 27]. He talks a lot of shit about freedom, gun control, and other American ideals. Are you aware that he is a draft dodger? When his number came up in the wee early 1970s, he went to the draft board and faked mental illness (he showed up filthy and smelling like excrement and urine), so the board waived his notice. And, to top it off, he had the disrespect to gloat about it in an interview many years later.

I was a fan a long time (I'm an ancient 52) until in 1999 I went to see Kiss and he was the opening act.

Now, this was Kiss' return to full make-up/big stage show and the place was full of young kids who were brought by Kiss Army parents. My brother and I brought his two, 9 and 10, and mine, 7 and 10.

Ol' Teddy had the worst potty mouth I ever heard. He kept telling Janet Reno to "suck my cock," and he wanted to "fuck her in the ass," etc.

I thought, "C'mon Ted, this place is full of little kids, tone it down some." But, away he went and spit this stuff out over and over. What a dickhead. Big time hunter, my ass.

In conclusion, I hate Ted Nugent.

c'mon: it's awesome he managed to align Mao and Obama.

This is one of the reasons why Sean Oneal is one of my favorite writers online now. He's able to treat the subjects covered with the right amount of erudite disdain.

The fact that Obama was elected pursuant to the procedures set forth in the Constittuton, whereas his boy Bush was elected by judicial fiat, is just too rich

President Keyes, Saturday, 7 July 2012 03:11 (thirteen years ago)

Well, it isn't saying that HE stained the shag carpet with the beer and wings. It's just saying that he's the human equivalent of a beer and buffalo sauce-covered carpet.

And yet, Ted is still unbowed in his admiration -- hell, reverence -- for the MC5. After Michael Davis passed away recently he said, "The MC5 were such a powerful musical/spirit force to reckon with, and so very influential to all who witnessed their might, that it is a sad day when half of their incredible rhythm section is gone. Michael was a dedicated musician and a good man. In our Motor City musical wind, he will always be alive and kickin' out the jams."

I mean, this was the band whose manager wanted them to be "bigger than Chairman Mao," and ol' anti-commie Ted cowers in their presence.

Chuck? Chuck? It's me, your cousin, Marvin D (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Saturday, 7 July 2012 04:33 (thirteen years ago)

I think Ted would be perfectly willing to kill a chicken and dip it in buffalo sauce.
