Cow Tipping is an urban legend...?

for:

1) Cows weight between 300kg (the heaviest man in britain) and 700kg (a smart car)
2) They have a very low centre of gravity (the belly!)
3) Cow's do not sleep standing up

against:

1) People claim to have gone cow tipping.

To successfully cowtip you would have to team up with at least one other person, put in a huge amount of physical effort with both of you grappling a standing, awake cow who just lets you get on with it. On grass, at night, while drunk.

Can anyone, logged in or out, admit to having seen this deplorable act take place? Why on earth would anyone lie about it?

I think about have heard maybe 5 cow tipping stories, maybe more. And now i have put those people in my brain's liar list.

It helps if the cows are downhill.

If one person can hold their hand on their heart and say "yes, i have truly seen a cow being tipped", then i'll accept it.

Cow tipping is a prank you pull on someone.

I have seen this attempted. My understanding is that it mostly winds up with drunk kids falling face-first in either mud or manure.

The one-person issue is kind of irrelevant -- what kind of freak goes out alone to tip cows? It's a multi-person job. And it certainly seems possible, though the point of the exercise is less to get the job done and more just to, you know, be a moron.

Funny that I was thinking of this exact subject from the second I saw Ramzi's tipping thread.

I've seen people try. In a group of several of them. I stayed in the car. I think the whole point is the drunken idiots falling in the manure.

Maybe they meditate in reverse while standing up? (MMMOOO / OOOMMM)

maybe they were pretending to be asleep

maybe they are just dull and don't move about much anyway?
