They look like tourists from the future.

Well, then I'm staying the fuck home.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Saturday, 27 January 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

Oh man;;; How the fuck are they able to... well... fuck? Car sex is not an option anymore in the future?

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Saturday, 27 January 2007 14:46 (eighteen years ago)

i-unit represents a new approach to human mobility that enables the driver to interact with his or her surroundings. The design is inspired by a leaf, a natural expression of life on earth.

I wonder how the blobs-of-mercury aesthetic ties into that.

A knife to his wife Eve and his credibility. (goodbra), Saturday, 27 January 2007 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

This is the most ridiculous automotive design I've seen. Granted, I haven't seen many, but even a relative inexperience with the field can't prevent me from seeing how unrealistic this concept really is. No climate control possibilities, no place to store anything, nowhere to shield you from the grit and grime of the streets, and heaven forbid you get into an accident -- its usage is limited to that of being a toy only.

Er, like a bicycle, you mean?

Bicycle != automobile. If you want the bike experience, why not just ride a bike? This is also like a motorcycle -- if you want that kind of thing, just ride a motorcycle. The beauty parts of cars, trucks, etc., is that you CAN ride around comfortably (almost) regardless of the weather, load up the vehicle with stuff, drive around without being exposed to the elements, and have at least SOME chance of walking away from an accident without a scrape.

Phoenix Dancing (krushsister), Saturday, 27 January 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I think the point is that bicycles also have virtues like: cheap, don't burn gas, small and light enough to keep in your apartment. Virtues I would guess don't apply to the TRON-mobiles.

Candy: tastes like chicken, if chicken was a candy. (Austin, Still), Saturday, 27 January 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

b-but I'm not saying it's a good thing, I'm just saying that this dude obviously thinks people might want some of the bike experience without having to do the work. It's like a segway, innit, no-one ever uses them either.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 27 January 2007 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

This looks like my future concept car drawings that I made in 2nd grade. Mine had racing stripes, though.

Zachary S (Zach S), Saturday, 27 January 2007 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

I can't even get used to seeing people in everyday life using the Segway.

Imagine a friend coasting around in one of these concept vehicles, especially the one on the left. Stopping in front of you, asking how your day's going...

I do like the kneepads.

Maybe you are a lazy fat bastard who wants to be more stylie than this:
