I don't think I understand the question. Are we traveling back in time to "do" the younger version of the celebrity? If so, I don't approve of this time travelling.
However, if we are travelling back in time to have lots of sex with REALLLY old celebrities, or even dead ones, then I would do....all of the Cartwrights from Bonanza. And probably the entire cast of Big Valley as well.

Chrissie Hynde interviewing Eno - http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/brian_eno/interviews/nmetxt.html

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT 'burning shame' is by the way? It's a pornographic term for a deviation involving candles.

"Ouch!"

"Very popular in Japanese pornography. They're always using lit candles because Japanese pornography is very sadistic, partly because of the Japanese view of women, which is a mixture of resentment and pure animal lust.

"In the traditional view, a woman is still expected to be at the beck and call of her husband, so that manifests itself in that kind of pornography. Of which I have a few examples, of course.

"Mexican pornography is an interesting island of thought because they seem to be heavily into excretory functions. The traditional American view is that anything issued from the body is dirty. It's incredibly puritanical and it resents bodily fluids, so if one is trying to debase a woman, you cover them with that and hence you get the fabulous term 'Golden Showers' - the term for pissing on someone, which some well- known rock musicians are said to be very involved in . .

"Here come the warm jets?"

"That's certainly a reference."

Request to film fans who have seen everything: are there any particularly good films with Meg Tilly, Kathleen Beller, Sondra Locke, Joanne Whalley or Olivia Hussey in them?

Meg Tilly: beyond her looks has something really impressive I can't explain. I think her break from acting was on her own terms but I just wonder what could have been. I've seen Masquerade (romantic thriller with a nice dreamy atmosphere), One Dark Night, Antibirth and Body Snatchers (not a huge role but she's intense).

Kathleen Beller: only found out about her a couple of years ago. I seen Sword & The Sorcerer recently. I know she's in dynasty but I'm reluctant. She's in The Godfather but I think it's a small role. She married Thomas Dolby!

Sondra Locke: don't think I've seen a full film with her.

Joanne Whalley: I've seen Willow and Scandal.

Olivia Hussey: I love Black Christmas

I seen Sean Baker say he wanted to get Laura Gemser acting again, I wish him luck.

Meg Tilly is quite fetching in The Big Chill.

Charlie Hair (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 3 December 2024 22:04 (one year ago)

I just watched Meg Tilly in the TV film In the Best Interest of the Child (1990) and thought she was the best I've ever seen her. The film is rough stuff though, it concerns child sexual abuse and has a strange unsatisfying conclusion. She nails it though. Also good in Psycho II and The Big Chill.

Kathleen Beller is super annoying on Dynasty and I believe her character Kirby is one of the most despised among fans. Maybe try Are You in House Alone? (1978) if you can stomach the subject matter.

Josefa, Tuesday, 3 December 2024 22:08 (one year ago)

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter with a young Sondra Locke is essential viewing imho.

Very affecting movie with a young Alan Arkin who looks very nice.

On the Sword & The Sorcerer bonus features Kathleen Beller said she wasn't much attached to most of the films she'd done, in that particular film she seemed happiest about being wrapped in a massive snake because she loves snakes. Annoyingly the interview had a webcam AI filter on it, so everything looked sort of wrong, I've seen this on a few webcam interviews, is this a default setting because I can't imagine they're doing this deliberately.
I watched some clips from Dynasty, doubt I could watch that for long.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Wednesday, 4 December 2024 18:05 (one year ago)

re Sondra Locke, forgive me if this is too obvious but The Outlaw Josey Wales was kind of a breakout role for her and many consider that a great western (I have reservations).

Robert Adam Gilmour, Thursday, 5 December 2024 01:27 (one year ago)

A couple of years ago I saw Lawrence of Arabia at the cinema, and it struck me that romantic tension between Lawrence and Sherif Ali was hilarious, because it was so blatant.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ01uA1I6JUgWxCdY76bA1FusBLyfOh_2QAwm5oVV0O4A5T7_vwSqoQ5WfG8V8zWN43SkMblD8_-v18CAOrGhQHlPoMkBX7bouT6xrAWszXFTBT00wuBXt3ZVG3aBuwyhNrk6ieO5EQFSh/s1600/cab2020-03-15-11h33m22s328.jpg

Omar Sharif's character wasn't a real person - he was a composite - so I remember wondering if the film was trying to suggest that Lawrence was in love with the idea of Arabia, or in love with the desert, or in love with something he couldn't ever have, or whatever. Rather than literally being in love with Omar Sharif. Or if the film was trying to portray Lawrence as a self-mythologiser using theatrical shorthand of the 1960s. But the romantic tension is palpable and I remember wishing I could travel back in time and give them permission to kiss.

And perhaps they did, who knows. I haven't read the book on which the film is based. It's a fascinating film that has aged in an interesting way.

Ashley Pomeroy, Thursday, 5 December 2024 19:28 (one year ago)

Well, the book the film is based on was Lawrence's own telling, and he wasn't exactly an unbiased source.

Biographers have noted that his relationships with boy servants may not have been strictly professional. He was said to have some sexual tension with Prince Feisal (played by Alec Guiness).

The movie lingers on the episode with Turkish officer, who probably raped him, and the suggestion is that the assault pushes his already-tightly-wound psyche into darker places.

All that said, O'Toole and Sharif were both pretty easy to look at, and wanting them to kiss is understandable.

Tales of them on set, however, are mostly about how they were annoyed at the lack of women cast members, and the production company had women flown in regularly to service the stars.
