Rumpsy Pumpsy (Rumpie), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 14:54 (eighteen years ago)

but are they pie? I say, yes.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:23 (eighteen years ago)

Creme Eggs are the daddy.

stet (stet), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

all mini eggs taste the same.

vita susicivus (blueski), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, creme eggs are horrible. Mini rolls are good.

chap (chap), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:26 (eighteen years ago)

Koogy Bloogies (koogs), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

frozen creme eggs

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

I used to really like creme eggs, but now, honestly, I cannot touch the things.

Hated the yellow mini eggs, would always eat them first. I like the pink ones. (Yes, I know they all taste the same, it is purely aesthetics.)

I Am Totally Radioactive! (kate), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

I find the brown ones aesthetically pleasing. Creme Egg bars are best, though.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

BARS??

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)

really, i just want the creme without the egg. chocolate ruins everything.

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:00 (eighteen years ago)

Mini food you say?

Also, the only time I go in McDonalds these days is when they have Creme Egg McFlurry on the menu.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

WHAT???

where do you live??

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

aw, creme egg mcflurry! so good. sadly, the crunchie one was pretty meh.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:13 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god, don't remind me. I never go in McDonalds except for those McCrack Egg things. ARgh.

I Am Totally Radioactive! (kate), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

im clearly going to the wrong mcdonalds

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

I love the fondant inside a Creme Egg. I sent an email to Cadburys a couple of years back, telling them of my disappointment on asking for a Creme Egg Easter Egg as a child and discovering that it was hollow.

I begged them to release a giant Creme Egg (with spoon of course) and this was their reply.

Thanks for your e-mail.
The standard 'Creme Egg' has been the most popular confectionery product of its type for
many years. We make 1,400,000 every 24 hours and is the top selling confectionery product
between Christmas and Easter. Manufacturing a 'large' Creme Egg would be very difficult and
the retail selling price would probably make it impossible to market successfully.

I am sorry to have to disappoint you on this occasion but once again thank you for your interest
in writing to us.

Rumpsy Pumpsy (Rumpie), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

God, a giant easter egg size creme egg would be like a recipe for diabetic coma! Aaaiiyeee!!!

I Am Totally Radioactive! (kate), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

I'd have paid TOP DOLLAR! Bastards.

ss, these are unfortunately unavailable in the us. we sometimes lag shockingly behind in junk food technology.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:24 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, we have the choc chip pancake-wrapped sausage on stick! shouldn't a creme egg flurry be a no-brainer?

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:24 (eighteen years ago)

swap u 4 funnel cake

vita susicivus (blueski), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:26 (eighteen years ago)

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:28 (eighteen years ago)

I thought they did a limited edition giant creme egg a couple of years back.

onimo (onimo), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:28 (eighteen years ago)

If they had, I'd have known about it.

Rumpsy Pumpsy (Rumpie), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

wiki disagrees, maybe it was a dream :)

did spot this though...
Over the years, Cadbury has introduced a number of products related to the original Creme Egg, including:

* Mini Creme Eggs (bite-sized Creme Eggs)
* Caramel Eggs (soft caramel filling)
* Mini Caramel Eggs (bite-sized Caramel Eggs)
* Chocolate Creme Eggs (chocolate fondant filling)
* Dream Eggs (white chocolate with white chocolate fondant filling)
* Dairy Milk Creme Egg bars
* Creme Egg Fondant in a Narrow Cardboard Tube (limited edition)

onimo (onimo), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

ew, the dream eggs are nasty.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:31 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, but pimpmysnack has done giant creme egg surely?

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:31 (eighteen years ago)

What, like the ones you can already buy in milkshake shops?

"mini eggs" always makes me think of small testicles.

i'm glad this thread wasn't about small testicles.

who knew the UK loved sweetness so much??

some of those flavors are horrifying, btw.

cucumber with toffee popcorn and musclebuilder. yikes.

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

also, do you really have shops that just sell milkshakes?

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

yes but only within last ten years and surely that started in the States?

vita susicivus (blueski), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, but Shakeaway is very, very special. I love it of course. I really love going to the one in Greenwich, which isn't a Shakeaway - Shake It? perhaps? Not loads of them sunny but they do exist and they are marvy.

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

in the 1950s maybe? i dont know. ive only been here 2 years.

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:44 (eighteen years ago)

the milkshakes at Ultimate Burger Co. are well lush.

vita susicivus (blueski), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

im a boring milkshake drinker - i only order vanilla malt.

i guess theres dairy queen

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

Whilst I love Shakeaway etc, my heart prefers the straight from Crusha and slightly frothy offerings from greasy spoons.

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

u madd

vita susicivus (blueski), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

we've got smoothie/fruit juice places, not milkshake shops. you wouldn't get chocolate shakes or stuff with candy/syrup in. most of that stuff is still very sugary and high-calorie, though, despite pretensions to healthiness.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

Are mini eggs jelly beans?

US has STEAK AND SHAKE.

jennyjennyjenny (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:50 (eighteen years ago)

Mini eggs are chocolate with hard candy coatings. Also they are lovely.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks!

jennyjennyjenny (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

i only know the one milkshake-devoted shop in london (the greenwich one). there's something like 100 flavours inc. numerous chocolate bars. but the first time i encountered this sort of thing was a similar place in bournemouth six years ago.

This is what mini eggs look like.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

arent they those wedding almonds?

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

i'm glad this thread wasn't about small testicles.

You really think Rumpy would start a thread about small testicles?

=== temporary username === (Mark C), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

No, because the centre is CHOCOLATE (yum!) not ALMONDS (bleurgh!)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

(erm, mini-eggs, not testicles, obviously)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

uh huh

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

Also they are less flat and more egglike than sugared almonds. The coating is not dissimilar, though.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

those mini eggs are making me crave Kool Fruits. Do they still come in that cardboard tin?

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

Mini eggs from Pick and Mix troughs are cruddy and taste like dirt. Cadbury's Mini Eggs are delicious.

Slumpman (Slump Man), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:18 (eighteen years ago)

Also they are less flat and more egglike than sugared almonds. The coating is not dissimilar, though.

Hopefully this is about mini eggs and not testicles too.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...
Update - I called Cadbury to request they re-release the aforementioned 'Creme Egg Fondant in a Narrow Cardboard Tube', but they denied they had ever made it.

I had to talk one of their customer service reps through finding the wiki entry, but from her memory (and her colleagues) Cadbury have never sold the fondant on it's own. Hmmm... Fake entry?

This has once again whet my appetite for the fondant, it's almost impossible to get a good scoop of it without tainting it with chocolate, so I've mounted a (tiny so far) campaign to have Cadbury sell us fondant.

Please join me!

rumpie, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

i like that they're denying it. "you ate nothing!"

we need to blow the whistle on their little cover-up.

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:23 (eighteen years ago)

Those Cadbury bastards have had it too good for too long, with their mythical fondant.

The best thing about Mini Eggs is surely the Mister Cadbury Parrot ads, no? I think I almost made myself from laughing at him when he popped out of that pocket on that snooker table. He had that one mental eye, bless him.

accentmonkey, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:45 (eighteen years ago)

yes. yes you are right.

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:47 (eighteen years ago)

and it was so much better than that rubbish 'I eat them with chips!' ad that ran before it.

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:48 (eighteen years ago)

made myself SICK from laughing. I did not fashion myself from my own laughter, that would be ridiculous.

accentmonkey, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:48 (eighteen years ago)

A present for you Rumpie

C J, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:49 (eighteen years ago)
