I saw this a year or so ago at the last big L.A. network screenings. Does the pilot episode still end with that Arcade Fire song blaring over the ending? I realized at that point how I will always be at the mercy of any filmmaker who plays a song I like over a slow motion montage of people looking thoughtful (i.e. almost every Six Feet Under, J.J. Abrams' work, etc.). No matter how shitty the material is, end it that way and I am putty in a hack's hands.

for some reason I thought Black Donnelly's was possessive, like the name of the bar they're going to use as their base or something. (which should have meant no The, obv.)

I acquired this episode from my friend the internet, and got as far as the bar fight at the wake with the Oirishy music, and the voiceover saying "people think the Irish are all drinkers and brawlers, which makes you so angry you just want to get drunk and punch someone".

I don't think I'll bother watching any more.
